ITT we break down the UGA-Bama matchups

MIchigan - Ohio State is an actual rivalry.

UGA - UF is Florida's annual clown stomping of UGA. (save that extremely rare year when UGA falls over itself to victory)

    More ignorance.

You do know that Georgia leads the series and has won two in a row, right?

We all saw how UGA would dominate in the B1G with that huge win over Michigan State.

    8-4 against the Big 10.

    Next attempt in ..................

    Nice.

Be thankful you don't play a MWC schedule.

Boise St is still scoring on your vaunted defense.

Let the thread get back on track.

It's obvious you're an attention whore.

I blew up your original point concerning Georgia playing a softer schedule than Bama. Get over it and wipe my jizz off your chin.

Plus, UF has 3 national championships since UGA last won one.

I'll let the thread back on track. I'm tired of pointing out all of the non-SEC teams UGA has choked against recently anyway.

Alabama faced two teams this season ranked in the top 10, and gave up over 400 yards of total offense in both games and surrendered over 5 yards per play.

So do we need to bring up Georgia'a defensive stats from games againstless than stellar opponents?

A&M is the #3 offense in the country. We just couldn't contain Manziel and he had an amazing day. Murray can't do what Manziel did, he doesn't have the wheels.

LSU just took it to us. That's what worries me when looking at UGA. They are a balanced offense with a QB who can make you pay. Mettenberger made some of the best throws I've seen a QB make and with their powerful running game, it was a bad combo for us. Still, they only scored 17 points. I know Miles made some bad play calls but 17 points is 17 points.

On the flip side, Murray faced two really good defenses this year and his numbers against both were pitiful. The USCe game was an abomination and he didn't really win the Florida game for UGA, their only big win with Murray at QB. He threw 3 INT's and had a generally awful game...UF just did everything they could to give UGA the game including 6 turnovers and 10 penalties. 12/24 with 1 TD/3 INT for 150 yards will not beat Alabama. If he goes Mettenberger on us though he has a chance.

I expect it to be like last year, but less lopsided. UGA will come out firing with well-scripted opening possessions and Bama will win methodically like Bama does.

I think last year's SEC championship game was an outlier. UGA was a good team, but the biggest problem is that they didn't have any rushing attack. Crowell was hobbled, Malcome is decent, and Carlton Thomas was never good enough to play in the SEC.

Because of that lack of a running game, UGA faced 3-and-9, 3-and-10, 3-and-7 on the first three drives of 2nd half, then converted a 3-and-3 on 4th drive but then went back to 3-and-9.

And, that's why I've always thought Murray is getting a bad rap with his poor performance in big games. He basically has had to single-handily beat teams in order for UGA to have a chance. Now this year, he has had a rushing attack and had a poor game versus South Carolina and a poor first half versus Florida. But, that's not really enough to put that label on him. He had a pretty stellar first half against LSU in the SEC championship game, but had 2 potential TD's that were dropped by the WR's.

I'm not saying UGA is a shoo-in to beat Bama. But, you can't really blame Murray when he's had no supporting run game in previous years.

Sure, UGA lost a lot in the 90's and early 2000's.

But, UGA is 4-5 in the past nine years, with one loss in overtime. Not quite so lopsided.

    I think Bama wins big.

UGA played an extremely soft schedule this year. They played two good teams and got blown out by one. The other team turned the ball over like 7 times and UGA still barely won.

    Complete paper tiger, imo.

Bamas schedule is EXACTLY the same, they played 2 good teams and lost to one, whats your point?

You guys are bringing up a ton of useless, irrelevant stats. We are playing better and we can beat Bama if we play our best. This also isnt 1990-something, its 2012 and weve improved alot, isnt that what its about? If you think UGA is going to lay down or get blown out you are wrong.

I agree. Both schedules are absolutey terrible.

I just think UGA's loss is worse.

UGA's/Murray's stats against USCe and UF aren't irrelevant at all. They're actually very relevant. Murray has never had a good game against a top level defense on the big stage. That's important given Alabama's status and the magnitude of this game.

UGA has played better lately but against who? Ole Miss was 6-6, Auburn was horrendous and 3-9, GT lost to Middle Tennessee and was 6-6, GA Southern is 1-AA. Even the UF game was a pretty poor performance with 3 turnovers and 14 penalties...it's just that UF played even worse.

And before that you have a near loss to Kentucky, a 28 point loss to USCe, and a win over UT in which you gave up 44 points at home.
