So do we need to bring up Georgia'a defensive stats from games againstless than stellar opponents?

I think last year's SEC championship game was an outlier. UGA was a good team, but the biggest problem is that they didn't have any rushing attack. Crowell was hobbled, Malcome is decent, and Carlton Thomas was never good enough to play in the SEC.

Because of that lack of a running game, UGA faced 3-and-9, 3-and-10, 3-and-7 on the first three drives of 2nd half, then converted a 3-and-3 on 4th drive but then went back to 3-and-9.

And, that's why I've always thought Murray is getting a bad rap with his poor performance in big games. He basically has had to single-handily beat teams in order for UGA to have a chance. Now this year, he has had a rushing attack and had a poor game versus South Carolina and a poor first half versus Florida. But, that's not really enough to put that label on him. He had a pretty stellar first half against LSU in the SEC championship game, but had 2 potential TD's that were dropped by the WR's.

I'm not saying UGA is a shoo-in to beat Bama. But, you can't really blame Murray when he's had no supporting run game in previous years.

Bamas schedule is EXACTLY the same, they played 2 good teams and lost to one, whats your point?

You guys are bringing up a ton of useless, irrelevant stats. We are playing better and we can beat Bama if we play our best. This also isnt 1990-something, its 2012 and weve improved alot, isnt that what its about? If you think UGA is going to lay down or get blown out you are wrong.

UGA's/Murray's stats against USCe and UF aren't irrelevant at all. They're actually very relevant. Murray has never had a good game against a top level defense on the big stage. That's important given Alabama's status and the magnitude of this game.

UGA has played better lately but against who? Ole Miss was 6-6, Auburn was horrendous and 3-9, GT lost to Middle Tennessee and was 6-6, GA Southern is 1-AA. Even the UF game was a pretty poor performance with 3 turnovers and 14 penalties...it's just that UF played even worse.

And before that you have a near loss to Kentucky, a 28 point loss to USCe, and a win over UT in which you gave up 44 points at home.
