Look, it's this dusty old woman.

What happened, your horrible job modding a message board brought you over here?

The fact that you're worthless and inept to the point you can't even effectively be a hall monitor hasn't driven you to suicide?

Well, it wouldn't matter, you'd probably fail at suicide too. I hope you're old ass dies soon. You should really go back to rivals... You're like a whistle on a plow.

  • You know Skippy, I'm gonna say this to you only once and frankly you are not even worth those keystrokes, but I am in a good mood so am giving you a pass.

Little trolls like yourself live in basements. You have one hand on the keyboard and the other on your pathetic little pecker. You try to bait people and when you do you get a few strokes, try to bait them again and anxiously wait.

Now I can't blame you for jacking off, as something tells me as far as sex in RL goes the nearest you have ever been to a vagina was being born, but I can control you getting any "strokes" from me.

SO, enjoy your strokes from what I wrote and cherish them, as this alt you are on now will get no more. Maybe I will miss one of your other alts but from the emails I have gotten from people you are easily recognized by your immature postings.

Just remember to keep a paper towel handy and have fun in the basement.

TroyTide, you're right. The atheists want to remove all religion from society and "most Christians" don't want to force their beliefs on others.

There's no point in trying to discuss something when either side has dug their heels in and are unwilling to recognize mistakes have been made by ALL involved. Fault within any and all disagreement is spread out, denying such is not only infantile but can also be dangerous.

Unfortunately, the "good" on either side of this debate is overshadowed by the obnoxious. I'm sure my friends who consider themselves Christians really appreciate idiots making a mockery of something they hold dear. It's sad that those voices are often ignored.

That is not what I said I said that most Christians and Atheist tacitly support those from their respective groups that are actively trying to impose the beliefs of those larger groups on the greater society. My whole point was to the OP, that every group tries to change the world to their liking however it can, not just Christians. You are just reading an argument into my posts and somehow are assuming that I am on the Christian side, and I am not.

I guess you assumed that from the post where I responded to another poster in which I said that the Atheist would try to remove religion from public life if they became the majority...and they would. Just like the Christians have been imposing Christianity as much as possible since they have always been the majority. Point being that all majorities attempt to impose their beliefs on minorities.

will we finally see Christians support separation of church and state?

Let's get to the root of the problem, the ill understood "separation of church and state"...

"Separation of Church and State" is an anti-religion result from activist judges, it is not in the constitution. The first amendment bars the gov't from establishing an official state religion and/or taxation based on membership to that religion. It basically means that you are free to worship as you choose.

Religion (Judeo-Christian) had a profound impact on our founding principles and fathers. Having the 10-commandments in a courtroom is not unconstitutional and is akin to having a picture of Rockne in Notre Dame's stadium (historical roots). Now if the judge forces someone to read them, uses tax payer dollars to buy them or similar, that is wrong.

Today many try to further bend the SOC&S into a freedom from religion and that is even worse. I myself am not very religious, but I am not offended by any organized religion, nor the beliefs of anyone as long as they abide by our laws and allow me to choose or not choose to agree with their beliefs.

I am not very religious at all, I haven't been to Church (other than weddings) in over 10 years. I was married by a Captain of a ship at sea, not a preacher.

I am however fiercely loyal to the Constitution and the founding principles and the perversion of them by progressives on the left and right-wing religious zealots offend me just the same.

FYI - I still consider myself Christian, although most church goers would consider me "back slidden" (sp?).

Look BLF, I disagree with you politically most of the time (I'm pretty hardcore Libertarian), so I don't expect you to agree with my philosophy and I am not offended by that. However, I do ask that you take me at my word on this.

To get back on point for the OP, I think the vast majority of Americans (Christian, Jew, Atheist, Hindu, Muslim...) support the 1st Amendment and the basic intent of it... The gov't cannot make an official religion nor can the prohibit the practice of another religion. You as an individual can opt to believe or not believe whatever you wish. This does not mean that you will never encounter religious symbols nor should you try to push your religion or lack thereof on anyone.

Actually DmcJ they were more than just major players, they were the players. And, the notion that the Church wants to run the country is a farse created by the media and those who don't like the Church. The reality, these days, is that the gov't seems more intent on interfering with the Church. Certainly Christians, just like everyone else, want to exercise their right to lobby and vote. But, the Church doesn't want to run the state, and it never has in America.

I don't want the Church to run the state b/c that situation always results in the Church compromising its mission.

If they are going to lobby they should have to pay taxes like any other special interest group.

I can't get a bunch of lgbtq people together to fund pro marriage equality bills without having to pay taxes somehow.

Well, Christians are a very diverse group just like everyone else. Many Christians fall into many categories, just like everyone else. And, the reality is that churches aren't profit making entities. Do you want to tax the Abortion Fund (non profit) too simply b/c they lobby for their cause? You would end up taxing hundreds of non-profits if you were consistent and taking away the whole idea of non-profits.

It's a bad idea. You have your right to lobby for your cause, stop trying to silence or punish others with whom you disagree.

Fund Abortion Now is a 501c(3) so they can't lobby. People who support the right of women to make their own choices with their bodies have to donate to one group to help allow women access to abortions and to another group to lobby for first world laws.

Quit interpreting the law to fit your worldview and prejudices.
