Boring. We have this same convo every 2 months. It always goes Florida, Cali, Texas, Georgia.

No. Schools. Combine the best players from each school in your state to make a mega-university. Each state only has one university.

    Ok, lets change the game

What is the best position player your state tends to produce?

    Better?

Then Alabama should be the answer. 3 BCS titles in a row leaves no doubt.

Means nothing. Put a list together of a starting lineup of all players from any university in alabama. Compare that to a starting lineup of a team full of florida university, california university, or texas university all stars.

Here's a list you can sort through if you please:

    http://www.databasefootball.com/players/player_bystate.htm?state=FL

    If not, have a shot.

I don't drink. Outside of Pouncey(who was born in Oklahoma), there isn't a current NFL or college OLineman from Florida who is starting or seeing significant time on the California or Texas teams. Currently UF, FSU, and Miami have absolutely deplorable offensive lines and the one halfway decent QB between the three is from Virginia. USC alone has a top 3(nationally) QB and OL, not to mention pretty decent skill players(all from California). Outside of Seantrel Henderson(from Minnesota), is there a single player on offense from any of the Florida Big 3 who is seeing the field at USC?

QB? would you like Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Matt Barkley, Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, RGIII or....? Don't know about you, but I like my football teams to have a QB and offensive line. The discrepancy between Cal/Tex and Florida in QB/OL talent is way way way way way way way bigger than the discrepancy between Florida and Cal/Tex skill position talent.

Wait the statement was "Combine the best players from each school in your state " In your case (Bama).

We know your the best at the moment but where do most of your players come from?

    31 from your state:

I guess the rest come from? shrug

Replace Moala and Uko with Aaron Tipoti and Juicy Harris, maybe Wes Horton with Ben Gardner from Stanford. That team is absolutely DESTROYING the Florida squad.

    I can respect that answer.

I will get back to you on that one though. I need to do some research.

Matt Barkley feels slighted by this depth chart and he's signing as an unrestricted free agent with team Florida.

Right forgot about Tipoti, but I think Uko is better than Juicy right now.

    Thanks.

Crazy how offensive heavy that squad is though.

Lmao only if you give us Timmy J in return Andrew.

Owa is a bust as of now. If Datone Jones doesn't get injured, he is the one replacing Horton.

  • If it is players at a school in your state, I'd say Cal then Texas. After that, maybe Florida.

If you go back to 2010's rosters though, I'd put a Bama/Auburn combo over the state of Florida in the #3 spot easily.

Cam, Ingram, and Trent in the same backfield. The OL would be crazy as well. Fairly and Dareus lining up together on the DL.

11 first round draft picks after this draft on that team would be tough.

This is what I was thinking as well. Also the team has to be coached to win. Texas would have problems as well as Florida.

Not really getting into coaching, but don't forget about a few UNA guys that could be put on that team as well. Jenkins could possibly make it 12 first rounders.

You're asking for at best a push. The real determinant is who's doing the coaching. If your answer isn't Bama, I'd like to hear your argument vs. Saban + talent.

No, no its not. I'd like to see how your defense is going to stop Andrew Luck going Peyton Manning on Saban's defense at the LOS, then throwing to three 1st round WR's and a 1st round TE behind a wall of 1st round offensive linemen. What are you going to press and play man? Cloud like Luck won't read your safeties? Play eight in the box? Disguise your blitzes?

That offense doesn't need a coach when Luck reads your defense on every play. Luck was created by the best coach in CFB bar none in Jim Harbaugh, and if you think Saban is better than him you are out of your mind.

What is AJ McCaron going to shred the secondary? Lmao your best offensive weapon is a running back, which is dime a dozen. You can find RB's anywhere.

  • stoptothink said...

So who's going to play QB and OL for the Florida squad? Oooops. Florida has, by a fairly wide margin, the best skill position talent but Texas and California produce WAY better QBs and OLinemen. If you put together NFL or college all-star teams by state and had them compete in a tournament, Florida is not winning.

This has to be the most retarded post I've ever seen.

First of all, they stopped the Florida vs Cali HS games after Fl mopped the floor with Cali like 7 of 9 years or something.

Second of all...maybe you should go look at all the Florida OL that get drafted. You might be surprised.

Saban's coaching would be immensely degraded if we disallowed him over signing the best players from OOS.

    This simulation eliminates recruiting.

No it doesn't. Its just combining all universities in a state into one. He can recruit, but he sure as hell doesn't have a talent advantage.
