To be honest, I don't think enough of the American people know about this to do anything.

Well, if we do not go over the cliff, we will run a deficit of around 1.5 Trillion this year. The magic number where we start entering the point of no return is about 28-30 trillion in total debt (10 times annual tax receipts). Once that happens, war is the only answer.

Even if we go over the cliff, we are still looking at a deficit of 800 billion. And I thought the republicans in congress were going to stop the spending.

Its bullshit plain and simple. Me and wife make good money but by no means are "wealthy" and we would be hit for a couple more grand a year. I paid over $20,000 this year in taxes (State, Federal, Medicaid, SS etc). There is no way they should need a penny more from me and my family. Unreal how hard-working Americans who are doing everything they can to lead a good life and support their family are getting screwed!
