and don't work on Friday, then I hate you. WTF is with all these people not working on Friday? "This is ___ and I am not in the office on Friday, please leave a message." I have about 15,000 medical and insurance records that need to be processed and nobody in any of the offices. What is this? Mexico?

I work in sales in the healthcare industry and I can tell you that Fridays are a day that nobody works in that industry. Makes my Fridays easy though.

Yeah I do as well. Because of this, I have shaped my entire work schedule around it. I work 12-14 hour days Mon-Thurs and take Fri-Sun off.

Also, a lot of docs will take one day a week to do specialty/procedure work which means they are in the hospital or off-site for that day. Also, like the guy said above, a lot of doctors will also work weird hours so they can get days or even weeks off. An emerging speciality is a primary care doc known as a "nocturnalist", who will only work at night in hospitals. Pretty shitty hours, but they get paid a good bit more and get insane vacation time.
