Notre Dame - Not really sure. i like Brian Kelly, I feel that we're about to turn a corner in spite of the setbacks since last September. If we were to replace him though I would probably hire Mark Dantonio (granted I bet he's the next coach at South Carolina after Spurrier) or Gary Patterson (I doubt he leaves TCU though). I actually think Kelly is our best bet right now as the others I can't see leaving to go to us. I seriously think if we do drop Kelly our next coach will be either an NFL coach (Jon Gruden, but I hope not) or a retired CFB coach (Jim Tressel, but please no :/)
with your take on ND. I would take Peterson instead of Dantonio though

great coaches recruit and he's not bringing in any talent. when i look at the last 4 years and see the wins declining from 9-8-7-6, that tells me he's not selling that program very well. i understand that the odds are against him, but that's something he chose. guy has a great reputation, so i assume he could walk out of there to a 5 better schools every december. if he's not a great recruiter himself, then he needs to be smart enough to hire great recruiters as asst coaches.
w/ a month to prepare against like competition, he is 0-4 in bowl games.
he also loses to shitty teams. if he was such a great coach, he should be beating teams like army, purdue and minnesota, at the very least.
can't be called a great coach if you don't win games. it's that simple.

Narduzzi just got a 3 year extension and will be making $500k per year. He'll be a hot commodity for HC jobs everywhere, especially given that our defense should be excellent for the upcoming years. He seems to like being a DC. I agree that he would leave MSU for a big time BCS job. I expect Dantonio to stay for 5-10 more years and Narduzzi will have a hard time saying no to job offers for that long.
