If you were to cheat as a CFB coach..

  • How would you get money/cars/tats or whatever to certain recruits? Just for fun.

I would tell my recruit if he committed, to give me a spare key to his vehicle and go to his place or have someone I trust to put the bag of money in the trunk of their car, lock it up and act like nothing ever happened. Tell him in person the details though. It's risky bc the kid could get unhappy and open his mouth.

Anyways, I haven't had much time to ponder what I would do but what would the genius minds of tBB do?

  • I would just allow a close circle of boosters to handle everything, and I would have an extensive interview process to decide these 4-5 members

If they ever needed to call me they have to use a burner and could only call my burner

Everything would be dealt in cash

  • Money is cash dead drops in a secure and remote location. Ideally a locked janitor's closet in a relatively unused building.

Cars would be sold cheaply to friends of the player ($20/mo, no $ down or something), with the unwritten expectation that the player has use of the car whenever they want, and a sale condition that the full retail value of the car is due at any point if the dealer demands. (This is the poison pill in case the friend gets in the way of the player's use.)

Everything else would be handled on a case by case basis.

  • Hire a chick to be his groupie/girlfriend, and she showers him with money and gifts.

Actually, he could be bought without ever knowing that the chick was being funded for 3-4 yrs.

    Jesus Shuttleworth style.

I would form a council for the boosters that would go over the money contributions to each player and how it's dealt. I would have former players of the school to hand out the money to recruits because they have more of a connection with them. They can tell the recruits that there's more money to come, and that their family is well taken care of if they are of higher caliber and the families are struggling. I would first make sure that the former players or boosters have built a good relationship with the recruits and there is trust between them.

To many people involved with this for my liking.. The less involved, the better, IMO

Pretty much this. Coaches, or anybody else who works for the school, shouldn't be handling the shady side of recruiting. Let the boosters handle it.

  • I would use a small circle of boosters (3@ most). Cash only. $50,000 would just show up in the mail box. Me being the coach I would never speak specifically of the payments. But I would make sure to ask the recruit things like "were you taken care of" "got everything you need" to make sure him and his fam knew where the cash was coming from. And I wouldn't pay everybody just a select few game changers.

Yup, if I was the HC nobody on my staff would even know about it if I could keep it that way

With how much they move around these days that would be a dangerous practice

Boosters are the only ones who you can almost 100% trust their loyalty, hell they are more loyal than you are to the school more than likely

Gotta go boosters, anything else is stupid

Shapiro was breaking the law big time and it still took 8 or so years before anybody figured him out, and hell if he doesn't get into trouble and made his money legally, Miami would have never been caught

If you pick the right boosters there is nothing the NCAA would ever be able to pin on you

  • You let the assistant coaches handle it. You give them 200k in salary, but they fully know that they are getting 150k and 50k goes into another account for recruits and families to buy off.

    Oh wait that already happens.

Yes, this ^^ is exactly how we do it.

    NcaaAssassinG13

  • 1. Have recruits put up random items for sale on eBay.

    2. Set up dummy accounts for assistant coaches, boosters, etc.

    3. Have the dummy accounts get into bidding wars for the items the recruits are selling.

    4. End up paying hundreds and thousands of dollars to said recruit for some trinket.

    5. If NCAA sniffs around, react with righteous indignation, "WHOTF ARE YOU TO SAY HOW MUCH THIS ITEM WAS WORTH TO ME?"

I wouldnt even have the boosters know I was involved , they want to much say . They would be given a bank account to deposit funds in overseas. I would be the only one with access. i would make cash drops myself.

id rather cover my own tracks then have more hands in the pie.. NCAA cant subpoena, cant wire tap , and cant hire private investigators legally... my word against theirs and they have 0 evidence... and 0 witnesses. Every single scandal has had more than 1 person involved... they have a record of 0-forever.

nerd or you can start a non profit and fix churches... whistling Which would cost you? the occasional stud white kid,, but whats a cracker here and there?

Just depends on how much you value a good passer as a QB IMO.

Or one of those "gritty gamer" wideout types. FWIW.
