& your dad has stunk it up so bad as a DC, that it might cost you your job/career. What would you do??? I know im REAL close to my dad, and it would be tough to fire your dad, it could hurt your relationship forever. And what do you think Kiffin will do? Fire his pops?

If Monte cares about his son at all he'll retire without putting Lane on the spot.
USC will give him a severance package and he can go back to the pros if he still wants to work.
Looks like another perfect day.

This. I have a feeling Monte will step down if they don't start showing signs of improvement immediately. Monte is a smart man I doubt he'd put Lane in that type of position.

Last I heard Monte was the one getting $1.5M for being the defensive coordinator.
There are Lane caused problems on the team but the sorry defense is all on Monte and his staff.
