It's just stupid. All the candidates suck but whatever. We live in the greatest country in the history of ever because we can vote. People hate us for it, want to kill us for it, would and do kill other people for the right to have the ability to do it.
You have the right, but to be as mind numbingly lucky as we are to be Americans, we should feel a RESPONSIBILITY to vote regardless.

IMO, if you dont like the establishment and can't vote for either, go vote for some 3rd party candidate or an independent. That sends a bigger message than not voting.

The only reason we ever used an electoral college was because of transportation and vote counting technologies back then.
It's a very outdated system. Most people don't even know that you aren't actually voting. Someone else votes for you and your state depending on which candidate wins your state. These are chosen representatives that the presidential candidate trusts. In 2004 someone that was supposed to vote for John Kerry, actually voted for John Edwards instead... so John Edwards technically had 1 electoral vote IIIRC.

My cousin who renounced his Canadian citizenship couple years ago, and now is a full on American was saying he is voting for Romney this weekend (assuming Romney is Rep. candidate and won't vote for Obama or Santorum).
A former Canadian voting for a Republican candidate is crazy IMO, never thought I'd see the day.
