It's because of 2 FCS schools and WF. Tomorrow will answer a little more of course. Personally I think Clemson sucks, but I could be wrong. Even without Watkins, there is no way Auburn should have been able to hang with them, much less move the ball like they did.

I certainly think skepticism is warranted and Its necessary to dominate better competition, I just don't understand how some folk have such unattainable standards. It comes across to me as being the ultimate homer. The guy suggested in orde to be great, you essentially have to do exactly what Alabama is doing which is ridiculous and not possible for most teams to accomplish given The schedules of 95% of the country

They need to replace the word SEC with elite. SEC defense, SEC speed, why? It just shows how biased the media is towards one conference. Say elite instead. Kentucky has an SEC defense and SEC speed, but they don't have an elite defense or elite speed. It also makes me laugh because only a few teams in that conference have an "SEC defense" or "SEC speed". Could we say, they have a defense/speed like the top teams in the SEC? it would be better, although I don't like that it leaves out the handful of teams in every conference that are exactly the same.
So, it makes zero sense to me. It's about as logical as the Florida speed bullsh!t we heard after the 2006 season.

Neither does GT or Miami. Coincidentally, all these teams are in the ACC.
SEC has six teams in the top 25 defensively, while the ACC has two.

Until a conference beats a SEC team when it counts (NC game) people the conference will get all the hype from the media. If you don't want to be compared to the best conference then beat them when it counts and people will start comparing teams to that conference.

ACC has had their opportunities playing the likes of Maine, Ball St., Furman, FIU, NC Central, Murray St, Savannah St., Presbyterian, MTSU, W&M, Temple, Bethune Cookman, Elon, ECU, Richmond, Austin Peay, Liberty, and Army.
