I like LSU, a lot, my uncle teaches there. That said, in terms of this year, how is it people rank there defense ahead of ours? Auburn's O is not anything special and Washington is overrated. Not to say they are not better; but is it just based on the conference they play in and the past few years?

I would put UW ahead of Murray St, Savannah St, and Wake Forest. Auburn is probably ahead of those as well honestly.
That's the deal with FSU's defense. It's one game with players that were at least 3* talent on the other side, they looked average to good, not great. That's really the only game we can judge them by.

You are discrediting Clemson offense which is very good nearly elite... lets not forget that... FSU struggled to start the game, no doubt... but they settled in and adjusted... lets not jump to saying the defense isn't elite... this could very well be the only team to score like that on FSU...
Is FSU defense the best... nope and I have said so before... but they are top 5.... and that isn't shabby at all...

Clemson's offense is pretty good. You had to expect FSU would give up some points but 37? That's too many to call a defense elite. FSU very well may have a top 5 defense but there is nothing to suggest that as of now. They played 3 horrible offenses and then gave up 37.
To be fair, Alabama hasn't played an offense worth a damn. First team defense has given up 14 all season, all by Michigan, but I don't think our defense is as good as it appears. It's very good but not as dominant as the stats so far suggest.

Then tell me, what kept FSU's offense from exploding last season? It was injuries, especially on the oline right?
A patchwork oline will never allow an offense to be elite. Skill players being elite are nothing w/o elite oline play.

I would put UW ahead of those teams as well. However, how much room for "better defense" was allowed in those scores? I am also thinking you are refering to Clemson's O-line as three stars, if you are refering to clemson at all, because their skill players were highly ranked out of highschool.

Our schedule a joke,, maybe . But coming from FSU that is laughable.
You have played 3 high schools and a very mediocre Clemson team.
Now proceed to prop up Clemson as you were doing. But they belong in the top 10 like Michigan does....
If FSU is elite on D then AU must be NFL quality.... And MSU hung 28 on them.FSUTrackLoveFSU

It was a solid win by FSU. Im just saying that Clemson is still a work in progress, as a whole. Their offensive/defensive lines are avg at best.
But, the gm was never in doubt imo. Jimbo couldve ran a ball control type offense and Clemson wouldn't have that many pts. I think thats what a lot of people are not realizing.
37 was a lot of pts, but it is misleading. If Jimbo calls 12-15 more running plays, especially against Clemson's def, FSU runs away with that gm. FSU avg 7.2 yds/carry. So obviously if FSU just pounded the rock, Clemson gets shorted out of 2 maybe even 3 possessions.

exactly. FSU and Miami started the whole fast defense trend in the 80s, dont know why everyone forgets that. smaller faster guys. safeties as linebackers. linebackers as DEs, Des as tackle. beat everyone off the ball

Sigh... Clemson oline did very well early in the game... is it hard to give them any credit ...
The defense eventually wore them down... they are still elite.. how many offense would tiu say is better than Clemsons... not many... yea we gave up 37... but it isn't like all good defenses don't have bad games... some are acting ad if this is some new thing... it happens..HADOUKEN

I'm so sick of hear FSU has an SEC style defense...
