In-n-Out Burger *UPDATE*

  • It depends on which In N Out you go to too. The one in Plano was wack compared to the one I use to go to when I lived in Vegas.

I also think Sonic has a good burger.

    This explains soooo much.

Whataburger is pretty damn tasty. Not sure I would rank it tops but it is up there.

I haven't had Sonic in years despite driving past them all the time. Just never impressed with Sonics food. I do get a cherry limeade from there sometimes.

Wataburger is still, by a huge margin, the best fast food burger I have ever had. I had them as a kid, then after Katrina I was in Louisiana helping with clean up, and finally got to have another one in Lafayette, Louisiana. They were exactly the same as I remembered.

I also think Sonic has a good burger.

In and Out is just okay to me. The burgers are good, but not great, however I think the fries suck. Never have liked them.

Have you ever had 5 guys?

    It is simply amazing.

Yeah but only get the single, as you get five pounds of fries with each order.

They have one here, but as someone else pointed out, they seem to be a different category than places like In n Out or McDonalds. I will head down and try one out though....just to see what the fuss is about.

  • My new top 3 are:

    1) 5 guys

    2) Milos

    3) In-n-out

  • Not to hijack this thread, but I had Five Guys burgers for the first time today and it's light years better than In-n-Out imo. I wish there were Whataburgers in Cali though.

    /End hijack.

  • love in and out as well but seems better in LA and Vegas - 5 guys is pretty dat gum good =agreed

Place is a bit over rated IMO. Their style reminds me of sonic but with better food(and no roller skates of course).

Back when sonic opened in my area a couple year's ago a chick rolled out with a full tray & bit the dust fell & the food & soda's went everywhere. I laid in the backseat & laughed the hardest I ever did in my life.

  • The thing about In N Out is that it's all fresh, top quality.

One of the very few fast food restaurants recommended by the Feingold Diet Program (no preservatives or additives they believe contributes to ADD/ADHD and learning disabilities). Sonic is nothing but cheap junk, the others loaded with fillers and preservatives.

  • Anybody ever ate at the Cook Out? It's a chain here in NC and they by far have the best burgers, BBQ and shakes of any fast food I have ever tried. It's only drive thru and their burgers are chargrilled, hand pattied beef. They also have about 50 milkshakes to choose from, banana pudding being the best.

Place is absolutely fantastic, though it probably doesn't fit in this thread. I love getting stuff like quesadillas and chicken nuggets as a side and their milkshakes are top notch for fast food.

  • I agree with the overall thread so far that Five Guys is better than In n Out in terms of taste of the burger... however, can someone answer this for me?

Why in the hell is the bun ALWAYS soggy when I get it from Five Guys?

That's the only thing that keeps In n Out ahead of Five Guys for me. It's not that difficult of a fix, but they can't seem to do it. Is it the location I go to, or is it a problem everywhere?

I went to the one near USC and I didn't really notice. I don't like the foil though, too easy to have it caught in the cheese or bun and consume it.

    zabba

  • I think the foil is one of the reasons it gets soggy. It traps in all of the moisture and ends up right back on the bottom bun.

My other problem with Five Guys is that the fry they serve is way too soggy also. It's an easy fix though, just ask for them crispy.

Yes! Great burgers and corn dogs are a considered a side dish.

  • It's like The Varsity here in Atl. It's really not all that awesome, but you gotta go there from time to time just to go.

  • Just went and got some Whataburger. Great decision IMO.

As well as quesadilla's! I don't know of any other fast food chain that offers quesadilla's, hush puppies, hot dogs and chargrilled chicken sandwiches to go along with the regulars like burgers, onion rings and fries. I've was stationed in a lot of places and have eaten plenty of fast food and Cook Out is by far the best. It's better than Whataburger, In-N-Out and way better than 5 guys and their greasy mess. biggrin
