Driver safety is something I think needs MAJOR change in this country. Personally, I think there should be a second tier of testing in order to own and operate vehicles that surpass a certain power threshold. I remember after Ferrari released the Enzo that nearly half had been wrecked (due to user error) in only 6 months. Some people like to say that if you can afford something you should be allowed to own it. I say that's bupkis. You can't fly a plane without a license, I think supercars and high-end sports cars should work in a similar fashion. Just because you're rich doesn't mean you can safely operate a Bugatti Veyron.

The ratio of children finding a gun and killing themselves or their friends accidentally is way higher than a child finding car keys and killing someone.

Just for the sake of argument - I would disagree with your premise. Voting is a Constitutional Right, Federally guaranteed. The process of voting is a matter of state law. Even federal elections are governed by the laws in force in each of the individual states. Each state determines under what circumstances a convicted felon can or cannot vote. These laws vary rather significantly from one state to another.

Two states impose no restrictions whatsoever on voting by convicted felons. Maine and Vermont permit felons to vote, even if they are imprisoned. Even upon a felony conviction, the voting rights of residents of these two New England states remain in full force.

The District of Columbia and 11 states permit felons to vote once they are released from a term of incarceration. Additionally, felons on probation can vote in these jurisdictions.

The most common type of law regarding felon voting exists in 20 states. Under this version of the law, a felon automatically obtains a restoration of voting rights when his or her entire sentence is completed. This means the convicted felon is no longer incarcerated, or on parole, probation, or supervised release.

It does make sense. More people are killed each year in car accidents than guns. It isn't even close.

If thati s true, then deaths by automobile accident are on the decline as violent crime has been on a decline since 1994.
