Indian gang rape death?

  • Anybody else see the contradiction in this statement?

"We are very sad to report that the patient passed away peacefully at 4:45 a.m. on Dec 29, 2012 (15:45 a.m. ET Friday). Her family and officials from the High Commission of India were by her side," Mount Elizabeth Hospital Chief Executive Officer Kelvin Loh said in a statement.

The woman, who was severely beaten, raped and thrown out of a moving bus in New Delhi, was flown to Singapore by the Indian government on Wednesday for specialist treatment.

Well it states that she died "peacefully"

then goes on to tell that she was beaten, gang raped, and thrown out of a moving bus. Wild fvcking world we live in when medical students are put through things like this.

She was a 23 year old medical student.

I doubt they want to say that she actually died in extreme pain and suffering, kind of a respect thing. Wouldn't surprise me if they doped her up though to ease it. Maybe that's what happened. Shits crazy for real though. I'm shocked at the lack of response to the matter on the part of the authorities. People seem really pissed.

I hope they actually did when they knew that the poor girl was going to die.

  • Sad, sad world we live in. This story, if you search, is common there.
    Of course, it's common everywhere.

  • Things like this have to begin being punished severely. More importantly then that humanity has to figure out a solution for these Islamic countries who will dig in their heels and continue living in the dark ages as the rest of the world moves forward.

Freedom of religion, freedom from religion, human rights, equal rights amongst all genders/persuasions, universal education and suffrage, etc etc etc are flooding the world except where Allah is worshipped. Its bad now, it will be black and white preposterous soon and they will want to bomb US for it.

As for the peacefully dichotomy: Morphine is a hell of a drug.

India considers itself (at least according to it's Constitution IIRC) to be secular. shrug

Did I miss something though about her state being very Muslim or something?

Did you miss the fact that rape is still considered punishable by death.....for the raped woman!....in Muslim nations. And that in Syria and other Muslim nations they are serially raping all the women as psychological warfare against each other?

Animals. Did you really fvcking cite the constitutional stance of a country? Good grief man.

  • She died 12 days after she was raped. She had severe internal injuries and went through several surgeries. I don't know how peaceful any such death can be, but she was with her family.

As disgustingly horrible as that is, what does it have to do with this instance?

There is a ton of rape concerns, instances, coverage in the news this winter. It falls under that.

It is violently dehumanizing and creates a level of cognitive and emotional dissonance that can barely be categorized and overcome. That's why these barbarians use is as an act of war.

Exactly, that is why I am so proud of this girl and how she lives on. The men aren't even in jail...

  • I can't remember what country it was in, but it was a Middle Eastern one.

Anyway, they made a documentary about all these women who's husbands or boyfriends would get pissed at them and throw acid in their faces and burn them up so that they wouldn't be attractive to anyone anymore. You should have seen what happened to some of these girls.

It wasn't actually breaking a law at the beginning of the documentary . I believe the protesters were relieved that the end of it, when the government of said country decided to make that offense a life long prison term I still have to believe that it was because of the documentary and the publicity it got force the governments hands.

Without that documentary, it would still be acceptable in their government's opinion

It is a giant problem. From what I can tell, some of these countries have progressed (relatively of course) while some have remained very arcane. It's rather frustrating to see some of these countries embrace democracy and then appoint fundamentalists to be the majority party. Secularists and more open citizens are a minority, but a growing voice in these countries. I'm hoping as globalization continues, that some of these countries can find a balance between their faith and their extremism.
