  • What do y'all think? I think some valid points are made.

  • Get rid of the guns altogether. We don't need them. If that's true and you can own something that fires multiple rounds, then I want to own a bazooka or a tank. Hey, you have something that fires and I do as well. It's caveman mentality. People thinking we have to be able to defend ourselves vs. enemies foreign and domestic are nuts. That's what the military is for. People thinking owning guns to stop government take over are living in 1780.

    I own a couple of handguns to protect myself from the lowlifes of the world. It's not about protecting myself from the government, it's about protecting myself from the nuts that are capable of committing violent crimes. And there is no way in hell I'm giving up my right to own a gun to protect myself from domestic nuts. We don't live in some fantasy world where everyone lives in perfect harmony, we live in a cruel world where people do terrible things. I don't want someone in my family or myself to lose their life at the hands of some psychopath because I wasn't able to defend them/me.

    They are never going to be "gone altogether". You're talking about a fantasy world.

    I keep one so close that if someone kicked in my door in the middle of the night I would be able to grab it and at least have a chance to defend myself. I suppose if someone wanted me dead for some reason they might eventually be able to get me but I'm specifically talking about protecting my home.

    Are you purposefully this ignorant, or you just can't help it? First off no, individuals that own guns for that reason are taking advantage of our second amendment right. Thankfully those in charge weren't as stupid as you are when it comes to this. Secondly, that's the point. If someone breaks into my house, I don't want them to have a chance to live, I want the dead the easiest way possible.

    HAHA!! I gave you an upvote. Good one, but my post is solid. Why can't I be allowed to own a tank if somebody else has an assault rifle?

    It actually says you can't in the second amendment, but I find this ridiculous. so I guess I'll go get my automatic today in case somebody goes bonkers... I'll have plenty of time to get back to my apt, load my clip, etc etc etc and the shooter will just wait for me to arm myself to have a fighting chance.
