A lot of guys. Nobody could match his stage presence though. He was my favorite but there are/were more talented lyricists.

I personally like Biggie and a bunch of others better as far as pure lyricists. Like Bamaman said though, he's got to be top five due to his stage presence and contributions to the genre alone.

Pac wasn't the best rapper. But his lyrics were real. Everyday life in the ghetto. Deep rooted. Heart felt. Passionate. His lyrics carried the burden of his people and reached millions on a level no rapper ever had.
All those things keep him in the conversation with most. But not at the top.

This is about as well as I've heard 2Pac explained. Very true.
Also have to mention Tribe, "Low End Theory" is one of my favorite albums period.
