Alabama is unquestionably the best team in the conference right now. However, the SEC is still the premier conference overall. Florida and LSU sh*t the bed but that happens from time to time. Hell, UGA was a play away from the national title game this season. As bad as UF and LSU looked...Florida still beat the ACC champ on their home field while LSU beat Washington 41-3 which is a team the Pac 12 champs and Oregon State couldn't beat. Clemson may have beaten LSU but USCe still beat Clemson on their home field.

Is the SEC unbeatable and as great as some media and fans make it out to be? No, but that doesn't mean any other conference is better. Honestly, name a better conference than the SEC. I think if you look at it from the head to head angle it's pretty obvious the SEC is still the best league in America.

The SEC has some fantastic football players. They have some great teams, and I always look forward to watching their games. ESPN has "Favred" and "Tebowed" that conference up so much that it's really becoming kind of sick to listen to. Alabama is an unbelievable team, Saban is Saban. However, the SEC is not much better top to bottom then the Big 12 or the Pac, or even the Big Ten. Hell, we beat Georgia last year. NW beat MSU this year, Michigan and SC was a close game LSU lost and Nebraska who were rolled by Wisconsin hung with Georgia this year. There is good football all over, and certainly any team from the upper tier of any conference can beat another team from the upper tier on any given Saturday. I've seen enough football to understand the difference between hype and a decent team. The SEC has one great team and then some very good teams. Just like most conferences.

You can't use last year, that's cheating. So is using two conferences against the SEC.

There isn't a better conference than the SEC. The gap isn't as wide as some believe but it's still there.

I understand the SEC fatigue around the country, due to networks promoting the conference. However, the SEC has the second best bowl record dating back to 2000 (didn't go back any further).

BE: 42-24 (63%)
SEC: 62-42 (59%)
PAC: 39-37 (51%)
B12: 51-50 (50%)
ACC: 45-49 (47%)
B10: 37-57 (39%)

Records are through the Fiesta Bowl last night. Big East has the best overall conference record with the SEC second. Every other conference is way behind.
