  • A single year, and especially single games that you cherry pick, don't show much. To take shots at a conference, you need to at least look at three year time frames, maybe five.

The SEC, who you claim is led by a single team, has had four different teams win national titles in the last five title games. How many years do you have to go back in other conferences to find four different national champions?

ACC - Miami, FSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech - have to go back to 1980.
Big Ten - Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State - have to go back to 1986 (or 1966 with MSU if you don't count Nebraska)
Big XII - Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, TCU - have to go back to 1938
Pac 12 - USC, Washington, Colorado, UCLA - have to go back to 1954 (or 1937 with Cal if you don't count Colorado).

Study the numbers below. The SEC has been better against other conferences best teams, and against other conferences mediocre teams. Whose sucky teams are better than whose sucky teams doesn't matter to anyone.

    Bowls the last five years.
    .601 - SEC (26-17)
    .538 - Big XII (21-18)
    .484 - Pac 12 (15-16)
    .425 - ACC (17-23)
    .359 - Big Ten (14-25)

    Against ranked non-conference opponents
    .483 - SEC (28-30)
    .371 - Big XII (13-22)
    .293 - Pac 12 (17-41)
    .255 - Big Ten (12-35)
    .228 - ACC (13-44)

Ranked against ranked non-conference opponents (all good vs all good)
    .710 - SEC (22-9)
    .565 - Pac 12 (13-10)
    .450 - Big XII (9-11)
    .346 - Big Ten (9-17)
    .333 - ACC (7-14)

Top 10 teams against non-conference Top 10 teams (really good vs really good)
    .857 - SEC (6-1)
    .500 - Big XII (3-3)
    .500 - Pac 12 (4-4)
    .000 - Big Ten (0-5)
    .000 - ACC (0-1)

Teams with 6-8 wins vs BCS non-conference teams with 6-8 wins (mediocre vs mediocre)
    .667 - SEC (12-6)
    .611 - Pac 12 (11-7)

    Alabama and the ordinaries.

Those are numbers against NON-CONFERENCE opponents, Sparty.

    Go back and re-read it...slowly.

For someone taking shots at Southerner's intelligence.....not so good with the comprehension.

Here's a brief explanation of what "Teams with 6-8 wins vs BCS non-conference teams with 6-8 wins (mediocre vs mediocre)" means...

When a team from the Big Ten that had 6, 7, or 8 wins played a team from another conference that also had 6, 7, or 8 wins, the Big Ten team went 8-15. 6, 7, or 8 win teams from the SEC were 12-6 against teams with 6, 7, or 8 wins from other conferences.

Re-read, and then feel free to delete your original post, as it has no value.

66% against, whoever. is that 12-6 or am I doing the math wrong. That's remarkable to you I guess. Wow!!!! It would be in baseball I guess. In football it's 8-4 and it gets you into a bowl so that's nice.

you have this penchant for wanting to somehow compare your league to the big ten. I wonder how that has anything to do with Alabama and the ordinaries? Here's a clue, it has nothing. Next thing you'll tell me is that MSU was 6-6 so that somehow makes the SEC a powerful behemoth that is unstoppable. You ask me about reading comprehension and then add a straw man of the big ten for some reason.

Southern Folk. Y'all sure are funny.

Alabama and the ordinaries. Carry on.

Just noticed this and really can't believe you're as slow as you are. Sorry, I didn't realize who I was posting with. My apologies. See, you used your transitive property thing. While I used actual head to head games. I'll let you go back and re-read that post so you can make your corrections, maybe come up with some kind of statistical nonsense, and end up agreeing with me that the SEC consists of Alabama and the ordinaries.

I'll give you time for this. Enjoy the evening.
