Is Alabama's run coming to an end?

  • FortWorthTide said...

I would have posted this on BOL, but I know I'd get killed. Some of you Bama haters will probably enjoy this topic anyway.

I think the last two weeks could have been the beginning of the end for the Alabama program as it is currently put together. The defense gave up two of its worst performances since Saban's arrival. The offense can no longer establish a dominant, physical identity. There's a long list of reasons.

Defense: Two horrible games in a row. Even if you count out the A&M loss due to the greatness of Manziel, you certainly couldn't make that argument for the LSU loss. Looks like a trend to me.

We probably lose Smart after this year.

Still stacked at linebacker but depth at corner is weak. Safety should be better next year with HaHa and Collins. Jury is still out on D line.

Offense Our veteran offensive line has proven itself to be overrated and weak. Depth for next year is uncertain.

Still stacked at RB and WR.

QB depth is weak, McCarron very overrated.

    New OC hasn't shown much.

Bottom line is that I could easily see losses to Georgia and in the bowl game. Even if we win both of those, I still see 2-4 losses next year. Recruiting has been great but having 1000 linebackers and RBs is no good if you don't get quality depth at other positions. I fully admit that I'm a pessimistic fan but I just feel like the run is over. Thoughts?

Why? There is little doubt that both A&M and LSU will be better than us next year. Florida is rising again. Georgia and USC are still decent teams. It's been a great 5 year run but if you look at history most don't last much longer than that.

And tOSU's long Bowl Ban will be over.....

You've been spoiled by last season and two badass RB's.

Full retard looks good on you though

Well I want to always be the best team. We may not always win (LSU regular season last year), but I want to always be the best team. We aren't anymore, and I doubt we will be next year, so in my mind that qualifies as the run coming to an end. Even in 2010, we played like crap in 3 games, but by the end you could have made an argument that we were the best team out there. Same for 2009 and 2011.

You wouldn't get killed on BOL for disagreeing, you'd get killed because you are a moron. Plus, you say there is no arguement for losing to LSU, Bama won that game in Death Valley while only giving up 17 points. That 20 point 1st quarter this week was rough but Bama still should've won. In our worst defensive performance in 2 consecutive games, we gave up 46 points. How many teams have given that up this year in 1 week, much less 2? Please stop posting. You are making yourself look retarded.

Two losses in two seasons. Yeah its coming to an end. Geez.

Bama basically just did what UF did. 2 Title's in 3 years, we had 3, 13-1 seasons in 4 yrs. The 4th yr we went undefeated then lost to yall in the SEC Title game as we all know

I think you're just experiencing what all teams experience, youth. All of y'all's players are very well coached and capable but young guys make mistakes. Look at yeldon, hero of the LSU game but looked at as costing the A and M game. Sh!t happens. Y'all are much better off than any other team is right now. Saban just has to learn to deal with the pesky HUNH. IMO

What a dumb thread. Just because Bama loses a game you ask if their run is over. Lol. They had the #1 recruiting classes the past two years which will start showing up on the field next year. Bamas D will be fine, but they definitely need to pick up their offensive scheme just like LSU does. Both teams should be seeking some elite OC's. Contrary to people like Nova Noles beliefs you do have to play offense as well. If Bama and LSU work on bettering their O they will be just fine. Maybr even better then they've been in the past. With McCarron leaving Bama better hope they have a QB that can step up or at least manage games like AJ did. LSU just needs a good QB period. They have had horrible QB's for years.

After all the talent that we lost last year, this year would be a rebuilding year for pretty much any other team in the country. We are still going in Atlanta and still have a shot at the BCS championship. shrug
