Is Damon Webb to Ohio State the beginning of the end for Hoke?

  • I mean this is like Teddy Ginn, Troy Smith, or any other stud Glenville guy Ohio State really wanted comitting to Michigan.
    We all know Urban is going to land big-time players from Ohio and all over the country, but when he starts successfully raiding the #1 Michigan pipeline school then shit's about to get real for Brady Hoke and Co.

  • Bring this question back next year and see if it still holds water. Think OSU and Meyer may be getting played on this one. If it holds then feel free to brag and berate Michgan fans but until next February, this commitment means nothing.

  • This thread probably won't end well.

    Pretty sad state of affairs if one player can signal the beginning of the end. Urban snuck one out of Michigan, Hoke isn't going to like it, but it is what it is. They are no worse off today than they were two days ago.

    I doubt it. Until Urbs hires a competent DC, most of the talent on that side of the ball will continue to go to waste. Not that I'm complaining. I think Fickell and Withers should both be given big raises and lengthy extensions. OSU 's defense the past two seasons has been the worst we've seen in over a decade. Long live Fickell and Withers!

    See that's the great thing. Not only did we land a stud recruit, but we took him right from michigan. And the fact that it pisses them off is even better. I think alot of m fans are finally starting to realize they're screwed with Meyer here. Urban is making OSU one of the "hot" schools right now. We're going to start to seperate from them more and more on the field.

    Maybe you should start by trying to separate from Purdue and Indiana on the field first. Baby steps!

    Fickell has been the DC at Osu since 2005 with the exception of 2011 when he was the head coach. Osu with him as DC has gone..

    That's why towards the end of the season last year our defense was just as good as yours. You should worry about uncle fester al Borges coaching up Shane Morris. Especially when he's throwing into a secondary full of first rounders

  • 1. Way to early in the 14' recruiting process to think it's over. Do I think Webb is solid? Yes, but things change...

    2. As good as he is, he's 1 player... Maybe if we took 3-4 top CT guys I'd say yes.

    Webb seems to be a very good player, who could go to b a ggreat Buckeye, but he's gota get to OSU first...

    Keep believing that. They moved Fickell to DC because Heacock wanted to focus on the DL which he was great at.Bottom line is everytime Greg Mattison leaves a program or franchise they get better. He's brilliant in stopping bad offenses but gets exposed everytime they face someone with a pulse.

    Held MIchigan to 171 passing yards and 279 total yards of offense. 75 of those passing yards came on 1 play and 67 of rushing yards came on 1 play. Take those 2 plays away and Michy would've had 137 yards of total offense. lol

    But this signals the "end" of Hoke as much as Kalis and Dymonte Thomas signaled the end of Meyer. JMO.

  • Well, were just going to have to wait and see. Fickell had one bad year as a DC, and all of the sudden he's a shitty coach. Brady Hoke has one GOOD season, and all of the sudden he's a great coach. Ill trust a coaches opinion who's won 2 titles about who to hire and who to recruit. Mr Woodson is in for a serious reality check with Urban Meyer
