Is Jimbo Fisher the right guy for FSU?

Lawrence Timmons, Ernie Sims, Kamerion Wimbley, Brodrick Bunkley, Antonio Cromartie, Travis Johnson, Alex Barron, Javon Walker, Jamal Reynolds and Derrick Gibson all went in the first round last 10 yrs.

lulz and we won the ACC title with those heads minus Reynolds and Gibson.... and Walker

So are you saying we actually win when we have talent ? or actually trying to argue that FSU has been loaded with talent even though we told you otherwise ?

Don't be a moron, he might have blown the 1st round stats but what he is saying holds true

We haven't even had an offensive player drafted in like 5 years outside of Ponder

Oh and all those players you named all left FSU by 2006, not really relevant names iyam... and Cromartie played maybe 6 full games in an FSU uniform..... shit he left early after a junior season he didn't even play

Agreed. It is our bowl game..

You know..... as part of our final bowl ban & 15 lost schollies over 3 years punishment.

    coffee

    15 schollies, more like 10

Ponder had no business going in the first and all i did is give him the correct stats.

    Fact is we haven't been

I was halfway joking with Nova. You mean 10 per for 3 years for a total of 30, correct?

I was saying 5 per for a total of 15. 10 per is probably more accurate.

I meant 10 schollies over 3 years and 5 year probation, plus 1 year bowl ban, i'll take that

    abs_da_don

  • rms02d said...

None of those guys were drafted in the last 8 years.

You are talking about players that were on the team around the last time we won the ACC 2005.

That is a long time ago.

OK now i know what you mean.

    abs_da_don

  • ilovelamp51 said...

We will lose more schollies than that. 15 overall would be the minimum. JMO of course.

Agree on the bowl ban & probation...

Yeah seems like the NCAA loves that 15 over a 3 year span deal.... so that would be my guess

I had classes with most of the players you listed. To me that seemed like more than 10 years ago.

Then again I was in school forever so maybe that is why it seems so long.

LOL, come to think you guys had a lot of 1st rd picks..

I think if he looses 3 or 4 games with that schedule, he should be fired, no other team has achieved less with more talent in the last 10 years...

Georgia and Texas the last few years come close IMO

Not recently and not under Jimbo

Jimbo has only coached one player on offense that has been drafted in the NFL and that one kid only had a chance at the NFL cause of Jimbo

We used to pump out draft picks, everybody knows that.... we were just behind Miami 10 years ago.... but Jimbo hasn't seen any of that talent level in the upper-class at FSU until this season

    imho

Christian Jones - Jr - If leaves early could easily go as high as mid-1st
Everette Dawkins - Sr - Should get a look in the 4-7 rounds ( maybe higher depending on season )
Jacobbi McDaniel - Sr - If he stays healthy he could go 5-7 rounds
    Amp McCloud - Sr - 3-7 rounder
    Brandon Jenkins - Sr - 1st-3rd rounder
Bejorn Werner - Jr - If he leaves he is going 1st or 2nd round
Nick Moody - Sr - His move to LB makes him a 3rd-7th rounder imo
Lamarcus Joyner - Jr - likely doesn't leave early and I have no clue where he gets drafted but he is NFL talent
    Greg Reid - Sr - probably a 4th-6th rounder
Xavier Rhodes - Jr - Most would say 1st or 2nd rounder

That is by far the most talent we have had on defense in years, especially in terms of age

Who has been drafted on offense in the last 5 years?

    QB Ponder

    OG Rodney Hudson

And most likely OT Z. Sanders this year, and maybe possibly OT Datko.

Preston Parker wouldve been drafted, but got kicked off the team and I believe he was a UFA for Tampa.

Yeah Im pretty sure that is everybody

Bowden left Jimbo with nothing really, but people still believe for some reason that Jimbo took over a gold mine of 5 star superstars

  • Yeah then add him too, another senior who will go in the first 3 rounds for sure

Tank might be a first rounder

  • Jenkins will go in the first round as an OLB to a 3-4 team IMO.

Kid has unreal pass rushing skills, and with Jernigan, Carradine, Werner, and co on the DL people won't be able to 2x team Jenkins as much.

I expect 8-11 more sacks for ~30 sacks in the last 3 years.

    Kid's a 1st rounder.

I think so too but I don't know enough about the other NFL prospects at his position to say he is a first rounder for sure

For example I might even think Tank is better, Im not even sure

The 3 main DE's at FSU right now ( Tank, Werner and Jenkins ) all have first round ability, and adding Edwards, Casher and Newberry to the mix makes my balls wet.... its a no brainer why Flower Jr was so scared cool He visited campus enough to know that he would have been the biggest hoe bag in the group

I'm really excited about them and the DT's.

Especially when i read how Jimbo was challenging them so hard during the spring game..calling them out for not getting enough sacks...making the QB's live. He is trying to take them to the next level...and if it happens they will be insane.

I really expect our DL to be phenomenal this year.

  • Honestly I expect 11-1 with a loss coming to one of those toss up games, just because that is how CFB goes. I will take 10-2 as well but if we don't outright win 10 games, the ACC championship, and go to a BCS bowl I will seriously start questioning Jimbo.

  • The MIami and FSU game wont be close. The two programs are heading in opposite directions personnel wise and we've won the last two.
