Is Oklahoma being slighted in the BCS?

  • OU lost to #1 and #3 who are unbeaten. They beat BCS #15 Texas 63-21 and number #23 Texas Tech 41-20. They have handled the rest of their schedule pretty easily.

Why are LSU, Texas A&M, and especially South Carolina rated higher than OU when they all have 2 loses that are inferior?

  • Texas isn't a legit win and honestly has no business being in the top 20. Their defense is porous. OU has one ok win and has 2 losses so no. I'd say they're ranked where they need to be ranked. LSU, SCar and A&M all lost to Florida, LSU lost to the defending national champion and A&M and SCar lost to LSU. None of which are bad losses. I do agree however, that LSU and SCar are not top 10 teams. I'm kind of perplexed how they are rated higher than FSU for example, who should be top 7 imho.

Texas A&M lost to 2 top 10 teams by a combined total of 8 points. They went on the road to beat the undisputed #1 team in the country the week after going on the road to beat the #15 team. They also beat the #20 team on the road.

How can you write off losing to LSU by 5 points and to Fla. by 3 points as inferior losses???

But it's not like Oklahoma just barely beat Texas like LSU did Auburn 12-10 or how South Carolina beat Vanderbilt 17-13 and Tennessee 38-35 or how Texas A&M beat Ole Miss 30-27. They beat Texas 63-21. That's a behind the wood shed beating of the #15 team in the BCS.

They are inferior to Oklahoma's losses. Oklahoma lost to the #1 and #3 teams in the nation who are unbeaten. That's better than any of the SEC 2 loss teams have to offer.

  • LSU could be the chit out of Oklahoma and fsu, period. We might play Oklahoma in the Fiesta

so, because all those teams lost to each other they are better than a team who lost to #1 and #3? confused

I could waltz into the local Y and pluck out 11 guys that could score 60 points on Texas. Aint hard. Texas is not that good this year. Put them up against any top 10 team and they'd get shellacked. South Carolina and LSU have better wins than OU. OU is the perpetual choke artists of college football and the voters know that.

Stop comparing inferior LOSSES and look at wins. A&M has a WIN against the #1 team in the country, on the road....end of argument. A&M was #15 before last night. You win games like that, you are going to jump in the polls.

Congrats on losing to KSU and ND. Win either of those games and you dont have to play this game of "who's loss is more impressive".

They lost their must win games. USC and LSU have good wins over really good competition. OU has none. Texas' defense alone takes them out of any conversation of being a good quality win. Beating Texas doesn't hold a flame to hammering Georgia and beating A&M

Anyone can score 60 on Texas and yet somehow Texas is #15 in the BCS. Makes you kinda of question some of the BCS rankings, doesn't it? Interesting...

Yeah definitely. Texas is not a top 20 team this year. Maybe next year. Can't wait for the BCS to eat shit and die.

Also, Oklahoma was favored in BOTH losses and they were in Norman. Take care of business on the field and you dont have to have this discussion. If you want to be ranked in the top 10 then dont lose at home to the only top 10 teams that you play all year.

And yet last year the BCS conversation was that Alabama had a better loss than Oklahoma St. It wasn't about wins for sure because Oklahoma St had several more quality wins than Alabama did.

    MisterBojangles

  • IMO Oklahoma should just join the SEC and they will get the automatic top 5 ranking every year.

I've got nothing for you if you dont realize these two comparisons are WAY off....be serious man.

OkSt losing to Iowa freaking State does NOT equal Bama losing in overtime to the #1 team in the country last year.
