Well how are we to judge how good a conference is? I've heard the "sec is down" and have even said it myself a few times since 2004 but they keep winning titles

A conference doesn't win a title. Individual teams do.

Just glad slow overrated Bama won't b there

I would wait to see if the top 3 unbeatens can handle the pressure of running the table before you run your c0ck sucker and can finish unbeaten, cause guess what if they dont, Bama will be there and you will be madder than $hit and looking like a dumb$$ like everyone else talking $hit. Running the table is extremely difficult. Especially if your k-state and notre dame. Only two of the three unbeatens need to get beat and Bamas back in it with a curb stomp of jawja in their backyard in the SEC championship game. Remember that chumps.

  • I think what Billy was trying to to say was with the Alabama loss there is no true big name besides Oregon. While it would be entertaining to see Oregon vs. Kansas State I think that it will be a smaller area watched game. The fan bases are passionate yes but on the national level the people outside of this and other college football websites will not tune in. If ND gets in they are a national brand but the consensus is they do not belong. I would think Oregon would beat them handily. Although teams with time to prepare fair well against them. Kansas state I think would be a closer game versus ND because Teo would be in Klein's pocket all night.

  • if an SEC team isn't in it there would still be some great matchups.. you can't go wrong with the current top 3 undefeated teams..

If you don't want to watch any of those match-ups, then fine, don't watch. That's your right. Just like it was my right to not watch last year's snooze-fest of a NCG. But notice how I didn't come on this message board and create a thread about how I wasn't going to watch a boring rematch of the most boring "Game of the Century" in my lifetime. Nor did I start a thread to b!tch about how Bama should have never been in last year's title game because they played like garbage and lost at home to LSU, and they didn't even win their own division.

Personally I would love to see K-State play for the title, they have been the most complete and impressive team I've watched this year. Notre Dame has also been very impressive and seems to play better the bigger the stage. The way they completely shut down Oklahoma in Norman was amazing. Oregon to me looks like the same team we've seen in years past that can run it up on bad teams who don't play defense (aka the Pac-12), but gets shut down when playing a team with a fast and physical defense (Ohio State, Auburn, LSU and even Boise State). It would be interesting to see them against ND's or KSU's defense.

Oh and by the way, your argument about how these matchups would not be well-received and hurt the BCS because people wouldn't tune in is comical, since last year's game between the brands of Alabama and LSU was the lowest-rated NCG in BCS history.

Was not lowest rated and had 24.2 million viewers. Second most in cable television history. Was an 8 % rating drop from year before but rated lower by the northern market. Now that was because the lack of diversity and being two southern teams. So total number of viewers was high but ratings lower.could also be product of blow out

Now I agree on the Oregon comment as well. I think speed in the front seven creates problems vs Oregon. The time to prepare will have a team ready as well. K state to me is a good ball club but I guess the viewing of how good the competition on my eye is going to differ. Oklahoma was the best team they have played so far and well are they elite or just above average? I am not sold on the sec being up or down this year either. I think it's the matter of when a team catches fire. Alla aTm. Alabama has had its fair share of injuries . Most Bama fans will use it as a crutch but my thoughts are that the Fowler loss was the key loss . Offensive lines can be good but that key block from the h back full back spot are the difference in 7 yards and a game breaker. Or defensive backfield is showing youth as well. But that's football.we are 10 games in and it's too late for excuses. But the argument for Notre Dame is gonna be tough to sell me on. Especially if Oregon drops 50 on Stanford.
