Is it the SEC or is it two coaches?

SEC teams have won 9 BCS titles...
4 - Saban
2 - Meyer
1 - Miles (with Saban's recruits)
1 - Chizik (lulz)
1 - Fulmer
So 6 out of the 9 (7 by proxy) have been won by two coaches.

You can easily say its the two coaches. Saban is the best in the business, and has been for years. Meyer won 2 at Florida, and they haven't won the SEC since he left. Meanwhile, Meyer has an undefeated OSU team.
Who knows what will happen when Saban and Miles leave. I think Miles has a down year next season.

This was Meyer's 2nd season away from UF.
Muschamp already has them looking strong again.
It's the coaches + recruits.
The recruiting region is fertile enough for the SEC and ACC (UM, VT, FSU) to have strong teams. You put the right coaching staff at those programs and they will win some gms.

Well, you lose some you win some. That loss sucked, but that happens in bowl gms. Still finished top 10, 11-2, without even scratching the surface yet.

No doubt the coaches have a had in it, but the SEC has so many advantages. It's much easier to pull a top kid from the North to the South and warm weather, than vice versa. Not to mention there's more talent to recruit from in the south. On top of all that, you can't overlook the recruiting practices that other conferences don't do, whether they need to start is up for debate.

Saban and Meyer are the reason. The other coaches were flashes in the pan.
With that said, the coaches within the SEC are good coaches. You simply will not win in the SEC if you don't have good coaches.
FSU recruits some of the same recruits, as do several other schools. The difference is coaching. FSU is upgrading it's staff currently with SEC coaches. I am happy with that.

By that measure, only 3 coaches in the country can be considered great...That's an absurd way to measure greatness.
LSU is still an elite team. Just because they happen be in the same division as one of the best dynasties in history, doesn't mean they suck when compared to everyone else.
