So I was at dinner tonight with the GF. We were at a place called Marlows (one of our favs for those in the Atlanta area).
Anyway, the table next to us seemedwas what appeared to be grandparents out to dinner with their kid/in law and grandchild (3 or 4 years old). They were passing the baby around amongst themselves. The grandmother was holding the baby and the kid was flailing its arms and legs around and knocked over her wine. The grandmother proceeded to loudly get the attention of the server and demand a new glass of wine, stating they hadn't taken a sip and expected a full glass.
Now, I'm sure under almost any circumstance they would have replaced a glass of wine out of sheer customer service. But, the way this lady approached it asinine.
Is it the restaurants problem in that situation and should someone EXPECT to get a new glass of wine for free?

If you're family consists of 3-4yr olds and that 'anywhere' is a place where people pay good money to have a nice time ie. mid to upper scale restaurants, theatres, etc. then yes, it's inconsiderate. You're punishing others for your refusal to want to parent your children, hire a babysitter.

You go out to eat with your family to have a good time and get out of the house. Knowing that you are going to a place where other people will be at you take the risk of children being there. We are talking about a restaurant not a bar. It is very appropriate to take your children to a restaurant. If you want peace and quite then just stay home. JMO

If you want to take your kids to an olive garden or something be my guest, but just know whether it's your opinion or not, taking your children to nicer places is socially unacceptable and just know that everyone hates you and your kids.

Well I'm glad being a shitty person doesn't bother you. You should probably have some more kids you're not mentally prepared to raise and bestow them upon us as well. Although, if you're actually from Ohio then I don't blame you for any of your lack of manners. Hell you're probably here in Charleston right now ruining people's weekends since Ohio makes up 115% of our tourism.
