In terms of active shows, it's my co-favorite along with Boss on Starz (which sadly... no one watches).

The walking dead is insane good - no character is safe, no taboo is off limits, the storyline is believable on how humans would act in a fictional situation like zombies.
The psychology of the show is what makes it so good. Any show or movie can kill zombies - the walking dead hovers over the unpredictable line between civil humanity and insanity.

I do like the show just for killing zombies and stuff but it is seriously the worst collection of actors ive ever seen. Herschel is the only real actor on the show. Maybe the governor too, but the rest are pretty bad.

I love character driven shows. Lost to me had the best character development of any show I have ever watched. It was 100% character driven. The people that don't understand that, and think the Island is the main focal point are the people that don't enjoy the show. But stuff still happened in Lost. NOTHING happens on Mad Men. Well, maybe someone will sit down in a chair, light up a cigarette and talk to someone.
I plan on giving it another shot. I made it through 8 episodes, but it was hard.

Best show on tv and I love TWD. High school chemistry teacher starts cooking the best meth to support his family when diagnosed with cancer. Almost all episodes are on Netflix. Give it a shot.
