Is there a more complete team

than the 49ers? If they stay healthy they are scary as hell. If they have a playmaker at WR last year they win the Super Bowl, and added Randy Moss, Manningham, Jenkins, and LaMichael James.
I understand that they don't have an elite QB and are thin at OG, but Alex Smith with those weapons in year two under Harbaugh should put them over the top.

I was gonna say no way will Smith get it done but then I thought about Dilfer, McMahon and Johnson. He's probably better than all of them and like you said better weapons. Bears might be be close though

Not seeing it.
I think they are a good playoff caliber team, but I'd take the Pats, Giants, Ravens, Saints, and possibly even the Steelers over them if I had to bet.

Good thing they didn't get Manning. I hate the 9'ers but I can admit that they would have clown stomped the league.

Not really. The two worst defenses statistically in Super Bowl history were playing each other last year. Saints didnt have a great defense nor did the 2006 Colts.

Common theme with those 3 guys. Dilfer had an alltime great defense at Baltimore, McMahon had the greatest defense in history with the Bears and Johnson had a close to all time defense with the Bucs. I'm not ready to put the 49er defense on that level at this point. They're good but are they all time good? We'll see.
Harbaugh isn't the best until he has a Lombardi trophy in his hands in February. I like the guy a lot and think he's special but he doesn't have the resume just yet.

No they are not. They still lack a consistent passing game, and it's unlikely their defense will be as dominant as it was last year.
Steelers, Ravens, Patriots, Packers, Bears, Giants all better to start the year IMO.

Last 5 Superbowl QBs (just making the game): Eli, Brady, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Brees and Kurt Warner
Last 9 Superbowl winning QBs: Eli, Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Brees
The game has changed, you have to have a good defense obviously, but you do not make a SB and definitely don't win one without an elite QB.

What I said is true, its fact. I just listed the SB QBs and 9/9 of the last SB winning QBs are elite. The Niners on paper might be the most compete team, who knows if their defense will stay as good as it was and who knows how Smith and those receivers will do. You have to wait to see how the season turns out.

Yep and all of those qb's were part of a complete team.lol San fran addressed some needs which could put over the top. Waiting to see how the games play out goes without saying
