Is there anything worse than moving?

    I literally cringe everytime I get off the furniture now. It will at least get three days to get over this pain. Like Reber, my furniture was heavy as hell. My sofa bed was AWFUL!!!

    Thank god I do not have any sofa beds. My sister does and when we moved her I thought I was going to get a hernia from moving that damn thing.

    Sofa beds are some of the heaviest. Also big solid dressers suck.

    Yeah this is not something that I am looking forward to. My lower back is already f*cked and this is going to put me down I know. I unfortunately do not have any pain killers stronger than Aleve but may have to find someone who does in preparation. I thank god that I do not have anything with a recliner but do have extremely large solid mahogany furniture. Hell two of the wrought iron light fixtures that I am taking with me weigh around 300lbs a piece.

    The hubby and I have been trying to come up with ways to guarantee some friends/family help on moving day. I think that we are going to tell everyone that we are having a big party and will get lots of booze. After about 1-2 hours of allowing everyone to drink freely, we are going to tell everyone that it was a moving party and to start grabbing things. How can they try the old "I already have plans that I cannot break" excuse if they are in front of us?

    That crap gets really expensive very quickly. We had movers move us into this house and after shelling out almost 5k to move 40 miles I refuse to do it again. I may have to bite the bullet and have movers move some of the really large pieces.

  • Moving never really bothered me. Me and my buddies thought about starting a business this summer, but i am not interested in paying for insurance for a moving van and coverage for their furniture.

    Yeah you're right. Maybe I should just lure them over here with the promise of booze and then surprise them with the reality of no booze and moving. Or I could have booze that they have to earn by moving boxes, furniture, ect. The heaver the item the more credits they earn that they can then use to get drinks once the move is done. I don't know.....I have 2 months to come up with a workable plan.
