Is there anything worse than moving?

  • mtreber1 said...

Yeah you're right. Maybe I should just lure them over here with the promise of booze and then surprise them with the reality of no booze and moving. Or I could have booze that they have to earn by moving boxes, furniture, ect. The heaver the item the more credits they earn that they can then use to get drinks once the move is done. I don't know.....I have 2 months to come up with a workable plan.

I gave the friends that helped me with painkillers and xanax but made sure it was known that they wouldn't get them until the move was over. They saw my pills and booze before they started. That's the best approach.

    Do they really work?

    Yes, like you wouldn't believe

I don't know what kind of shape you are in but I had a serious back injury once and it turned into a serious muscle condition that only stretching and this device helped fix

Find out if its a muscle or bone problem, if only muscle then buy one

I sleep upside down now at least 3 or 4 times a week sometimes more

    This device changed my life

And you don't have to use it to sleep, just use it for 30 mins to an hour a day

It relives stress and tension of the spine better than anything else, cause hanging upside down reverses how the back works against itself everyday

lol I think that you are on to something with this.

Actually I should not be bitching. I have a husband and a brother-in-law that are both 6'3" and are 285 lbs of muscle and a nephew that is 6'7" and is 300 lbs. We have helped out the brother-in-law quite a bit (remodeled their master bath, used our basement for free to start his MMA studio) and the nephew lived for free with us for over a year when he and his wife split up. They owe us BIG and if they do not come help us move I will hunt them down.

That crap gets really expensive very quickly. We had movers move us into this house and after shelling out almost 5k to move 40 miles I refuse to do it again. I may have to bite the bullet and have movers move some of the really large pieces.

You're in the ATL area right? A good friend of mine owns a moving company here, might be able to get you a deal of some sort.

No and I am going to have to move in about 2 months. I am absolutely not looking forward to moving in the middle of July in this god awful heat. Add to this that I have huge, heavy furniture that took three grown men to move but will have to move it with the hubby and this is going to be fun.

Hire a moving crew, and say the hell with that b/s. I've moved my Grandma no less than 12 times in 15 years [puke].. I'm pretty much the biggest and strongest in the family, so I get the heavy crap. It's a pain in the @$$.

I'll bet you a grand that I can lift more than you in a gym setting. Moving is a completely different animal. I bench around 360. Your still not getting an apology either.

naw it doesnt matter how much you can lift. when you got a couch that is really big you cant grab it and lift it right. i had to move a sectional bed dresser chester draw end table coffee table dining room table and a bunch of boxes with just me and my wife. it wore me the hell out. i go to the gym 4 to 6 days a week depending on how i feel and can bench over 300 squat over 450 and it killed me to move

I might take you up on that offer. I really only need help with about 8 pieces. Depending on how helpful our family and friends are we might not have any other choice but to hire help.

True, but after working out a ton, it helps with endurance, which is important for moving.

Luckily I've never had to move my OWN shit yet. I've came to the realization that I'm never having more shit than I need. Moving it sucks completely.

I hear that. I wish I was rich enough to pay others to move it for me, sadly I'm not.

Exactly. Moving heavy, bulky furniture is a whole different animal than lifting weights. My husband and I both have been working out for 20+ years (I have slacked off the past few due to back problems) and we are subcontractors in the building industry. I am used to carrying and holding cabinets in place over my head and I still know that this is going to kill me.
