If team A is lining up for a long FG attempt, if you are team B can you send a player like Jimmy Graham at the goal post wait for the ball to come and have him swat it before its goes through the goal post?

This. If you couldn't get a full swing on it to bat it down, you'd run the risk of just tipping it up through the posts.

Yeah I idk if I would try it in college b/c i don't think the athletes are good enough but if I had Megatron, Jimmy Graham etcc. I would def try it..

If it was reachable it would be so close that the odds would be 50/50 if you'd hurt it or help it. It's better to put one more speed guy from the edge or a tall guy in the center to block the kick. Most long FGs have a low trajectory to start with.

I think they usually have those guys at the line to try to tip it when it's kicked. If it's a long field goal, the trajectory will be lower which will make it easier to tip it at the line.

Legal, but it's just a huge waste of resources. Much better to have another edge rusher or a big guy in the middle. Hell, you'd probably get more benefit out of a returner back in the end zone, rather than anyone to attempt to block the FG.

Yeah I would have him either return it or try and swat it; another thing that teams never do is call for a fair catch at the end of the half or game when time expires you get a Free Kick that possibly could be made from 70 yards.

exactly it would have to happen on kicks that are ever so slightly inside the kickers range that its not worth the time to invest in practicing

Good point and with that said it amazes me at just how many guys run off the field after a blocked kick forgetting that the ball is returnable.
