Is this racist?

  • I pose this question to you guys. Is this racist? What would happen if Romney or any white candidate, especially Republicans, started a campaign for White Americans for Romney?

I say this as a Democrat as well. These kind of tactics is solving no one's problems and is another example of segregation that was supposed to have been stopped almost 50 years ago. I don't think this is what MLK meant by, "I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit together at the table of brotherhood.”

This doesn't mention being together in anything, except in separating each other.

Hillary did this for White voters in the 08 primary - though not so officially. She went out and said, that someone needs to look out for the white blue collar voters. There's also nothing stopping Romney from doing the same.

I have no issues with creating support groups for specific groups across the country, so long as you're not pitting these groups against each other, and not encouraging growth in one group at the expense of another. Both Democrats and Republicans do this all the time, across all kinds of demographics.

Minority groups tend to group together, because they are minorities.

Bullshit... if the shoe were on the other foot we'd never hear the end of it. FACT

No one targets white people as an official group, because they form the majority of America, and generally have the power of the nation. But if you want to look closer, even then we see specific outreach to white people - which falls across religious lines.

Romney made a HUGE push for Jewish people - and there's quite simply nothing wrong with that.

Well, had Africans enslaved caucasians for hundreds of years and then oppressed them politically, financially and socially for hundreds of years after you'd have a point.

But the shoe has never been on that foot.

Racism is saying one race is better or worse than another race, and using that assumption to guide your actions.

Last time I checked white people didn't sell them into slavery so I guess your real issue here is with the African's themselves... but that wouldn't fit your argument so it's a moot point.

Yes, because Africans sold other Africans that excuses everything done by caucasians.

    And I'm not arguing.

Seeing as how the mormons do that weird thing where they baptize Holocaust victims and other Jews, I don't see why any Jewish person would vote for him and his creepy religion.

Mormon Baptism Targets Anne Frank -- Again

Anne Frank, the Jewish girl whose diary and death in a Nazi concentration camp made her a symbol of the Holocaust, was allegedly baptized posthumously Saturday by a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according to whistleblower Helen Radkey, a former member of the church.

Romney's religion has nothing to do with anything. I don't care if he worships Urban Meyer, it's his own dang business.

Romney's outreach to Jewish people had everything to do with his allegations that Obama was throwing Israel under the bus.

Why the hell would you vote for him again ? Don't give me some political party affiliation crap either... What has he done to deserve your vote for a 2nd term? No flame at all.

I haven't completely decided yet. I am for what he is planning to do for the immigration process in this country for one thing. I would like to see that have a chance to get pushed through. Other than that I am still undecided for the most part. I do need to learn a little more on Romney, but from what I have learned, they are almost the same candidate honestly. I probably would have voted for just about every candidate since Dukakis over either one of them.

The major news networks have completely ruined politics in this country. We had a better chance for better candidates before we had to learn every little skeleton in their closets. That digging threw Guliani out of the race, when he probably would have been a great President, IMO. Even as a Decmocrat, I would have voted for him. I try to vote Republican, as I am not thrilled on what the Democratic Party completely stands for anymore, but I am not voting for someone that wants to serve as the world's moral compass either.

They weren't really given much of an option. That's like saying why did Jewish people allow themselves to be arrested and put in camps during WWII.

I live in a part of the country where Caucasians are hardly the majority; there are more blacks that attend my ward than whites and there are two completely separate Spanish-speaking wards. Percentage wise, more Polynesians and Hispanics are Mormon than Caucasians. I don't understand why people think Mormon=white, outside of Utah that is absolutely not the case.
