Is this racist?

How is pandering for votes from a specific minority "racist"?

Elections have been divided up into a pseudo-science of statistics and voting blocs of specific interest groups. Politicians have an army of staffers at hand telling them who to target and who they believe will vote for them. Its easier to target a demographic that "might" vote for you, than it is to go thru a phone book asking random citizens for their vote.

Blacks are traditionally a "liberal" voting bloc. Pandering to specific groups is politics.

Is it sexist to pander to gay groups or womens advocacy groups?

If the website in the initial post was peoplewithcerebralpalsyforobama.com, does that mean that Obama prefers the mentally handicapped over the average white voter, and is therefore an anti-intellectual?

I voted for the guy.....and more than likely will again. Doesn't mean I agree with everything he does or especially this.

Like the saying goes, "If you voted for him the first time to prove you're not racist. Don't vote for him again, to prove you're an idiot"! IMVHO!

Is it about getting tax revenue or making sure the rich pay a higher % bc they are lucky and greedy? If its about tax revenue 2007 the government took in the highest amount of tax revenue in history. Its more about republicans believe its their money. Let the super rich keep what they earn, spend a shit ton of moneyin the economy. The government wastes it and gives it to people to lazy to work.

Ugh, it's about raising revenue and having them pay what they should and not pocket extra money- they don't 'spend a shit ton of money in the economy.'

They just pocket it because here's the secret- if you're rich and you spend all your money, you won't be rich any more!

And I have no doubt some are scamming the government, but there are hundreds of thousands thousands of people who need that money. I would rather 20,000 abuse the system to help 400,000 than scrap the whole thing.

Again, the religious right is the amoral right.

How much should they pay in taxes on money they earn? What's the current top rate, 35%? Most states are looking at another 5-10% and lets not forget property taxes and whatever you do don't die bc they tax you again. Should you not at least be able to keep 50% of your income. Im for the fair tax. A consumption tax on what you spend and you get prebates for necessities so the poor don't pay taxes unless they get rims for their car or another 50 DVDs at best buy.

  • Minorities are a protected group by law and have certain rights the majority does not. Like forming groups like this. Their protected by law. Don't fret though. Here in a decade or two us whites will be a minority and we can have our own groups....jk....but not really.

If I'm not mistaken it all goes back to the civil rights movement and the laws created then. Most white citizens organizations were fronts for racism. There's a reason the dems would go ape shat if they were formed today. they love playing the race card today when it's not relevant anymore. Ask Bil Clinton how he feels about getting it pulled on him btw.

See above post... Please explain why you would actually vote for him a 2nd time. (if it's bc he is black then fair enough, just want to know people's reasoning)

shrug gas is $3.06 here ... I really didn't vote last election, if there is a candidate that I feel that strongly about then I might take the time off work to vote, but I doubt it... Politics is a real cesspool and I don't waste much time involving myself in it unless it is local.

  • It is and it's pathetic and shamful for the President to do this, I say this as someone that votes 60/40 for Republicans but I always vote for the person I think will do the better job they are running for...ALWAYS, I don't care what affiliation they have.

Not sold on Romney, but this type of tactic completely turns me off, and it's horrible campaigning, it isn't like the majority of Blacks were going to vote for Romney...so all they did was shut the door on many non Black voters that were undecided.

IMO MR should run this ad himself and say he wants to include everyone, not just certain people
