Isaiah Jones update

  • This is just my opinion based on what im reading on multiple sites but it sounds like Auburn with a slight edge on FSU

He will visit FSU one more time in July and then says he will make a decision

Battle on, still like our chances but this should be an interesting finish

  • I agree AU is in front right now. I put it 50/50, though, cause I think it's too close that it can change any time.

  • I wish we played forreal. I know, I know, we backed out. But go to war every year over multiple recruits, we are closer than AU UGA or T-town distance wise and I just think that would be a fun game.

Indeed an interesting finish. I really like this kid and hope we land him. Best of luck to all parties involved.

NoVa.. Are there any other WR FSU leans that you guys could grab in the near future that may sway him in AU's direction?

Yeah im just hoping for a great last visit

He also likes Louisville cause of Ron Dugans ( ex-WR at FSU ) but they aren't really in this i don't think

Still my favorite WR instate no matter what, Auburn clearly recruited him well

I don't think they are either. He said he has visited AU three times, FSU once, and Louisville zero. I think he just like the Louisville recruiter but knows good and well he isn't going there.

I can't really say cause i think its something like this

Slot - Alvin Bailey, Rashad Fant ( getting one if these kids shouldn't effect Jones imo )

WR - Stacy Coley, Isaiah Jones

My guess is the board is something like this

So the question is do we slow play Jones in favor of Coley ? Who knows

    Just gotta wait and see

really hope we pull this kid in. dont see bailey or fant being a threat to him since hes going to play outside. hes raw but theres a ton of potential there. im hoping we dont slow play him for coley. coley looks good but i keep hearing about grade issues and that scares me. hate to lose out on jones and then get coley only to send him to juco

  • I dont think he ends up at Auburn, regardless of where he commits to. To much FSU all around him...

  • AS of right now every site I can read agrees that FSU is letting I.Jones slowly slip away because Coley glows brighter G&G by the day. Many folks expect Stacy to commit in July.

Would love for FSU to get Coley and us snag Jones.

FSU will take jones whenever they want him. Nothing AU can do.

Don't be like that. There are kids every year out of Bama that Auburn can have if they really want them. FSU has similar pull with certain kids in Florida and Isaiah is one of them.

You hear how he likes Ron Dugans ?

Good to hear, sounds like we have a up and coming prospect in the coaching ranks who can recruit well

Always liked Dugans, overshadowed by Warrick and Coles but was a big part of the 99' title team

Yeah hopefully we get that visit and wrap him up

I really really like this kid, good humble kid who plays like a total badass on the field

Heard he is looking solid at the rivals100 challenge

Take your effin meds TIGER!!! Everything I've read says AU still leads (slightly), but that's from AU sites. This last visit could change all that though... just have to wait and see. I believe we have put a lot of eggs in Jones basket and if we don't pull him it will set our WR recruiting way back for this year.

    Still early dood

    Plenty of time to recover

I like how your staff went gangbusters on Jones, they had to just to make it a race and it might just pay off

This kid is like a julio jones without the game breaking speed... Still plenty fast though

  • We're still in on some other top guys like Kearse, Quick, and North but I wouldn't say we're in a great position for any of them.

There are some mid level Alabama recievers that an offer would put us in the mix for as well...

Don't like the Julio comparison though... If not for the speed, Julio's hands would have made him subpar.

    I. Jones has venus flytraps for hands

Meh, first of all i only hear Auburn fans bitch about his hands, lots of WR's drop passes... Julio clearly catches enough of them

Second is what gives you the idea Jones catches everything ? You watch him at practice everyday ? Cause they certainly don't put drops on a highlight video

Its jmo but outside of speed and 10 pounds of muscle they play the game the same way

    Julio is just much faster
