4 star DB Ishmael Adams from Oaks Christian says he is ready to announce his decision in the next day or so. He was an early UCLA lean but it looks like he may end up somewhere else. 3 tweets from Dan Greenspan kind of give it away,
@ScoutKennedy Interesting re: Ishmael Adams b/c one Elite 11 QBs threw out his name when discussing how great 2012 recruiting class will be.
Cal commit QB Zach Kline said at #elite11 he expects Bears to be ranked top three to five nationally when 2012 recruiting class is done.
And if you can't read between the lines of those last two tweets, I can't help you...
Looks like he is #3 of the "Cali 5" that will be a Bear along with Kline and Treggs. Just waiting on Shaq Thompson and Jordan Payton and Cal has the whole crew.

I'll tell you why he's glad and also say that I am not sure that agree, but I'll let you know on signing day.
Since the 2010 class, USC has signed Woods, Prater, Ambles, Farmer, Blackwell, and Lee (All 5 and 4 stars). USC has 2 guys committed to play wide receiver in this class, and there are a few more that we have a legitimate shot at. I would say that we have more than a 50% chance of getting Derrick Woods, and we are very much in contention for Nelson Agholor, not to mention multiple other guys rated as ""athletes" that may choose to be wide receivers. Many people feel that with a class size limited to 18 (17 if Steve Dillon qualifies), taking more than two or three wide receivers would be stupid. Our coaching staff agrees with that. When all 3 of them where committed, they where considered soft commits. The staff was fine with Rogers and Mickens looking around, but told Payton to stop looking or drop his commitment (because Rogers and Mickens are better... Mickens is up to 5'11, is one of the fastest guys around, and will be rated higher than Payton soon enough). They where okay with taking Payton and backing off of a couple guys who are better, if he was guaranteed to come. But if he isn't a guarantee, he's a lower priority than Rogers, Mickens, Woods, and Agholor.

Steve Dillon isn't going to qualify and has asked to be released, so SC can take 18 (three EEs Arik Armstead, Kelvin York, and Scott Starr and 15 regulars) in this class. And, as far as Payton is concerned, Davonte Neal is also a higher priority as well. I know he's being recruited as an athlete, but I think him along with Kevon Seymour will be SC's CBs for the 2012 class.

There's talk of a "Cali Fab Five" that's locked up for Cal: Kline, Treggs, Thompson, Adams and Payton.
Kine and Treggs have been putting some major work in on the recruiting trail. There's also several "big ugglies" that Kline and Treggs say will be Cal Bears...
