It is easily clear that Alabama has the best offense

Bama has the best OL, but there are others in the same ball park.

USC- not as physical probably, but for what they do, can't argue with MattB not getting hit that much throughout an entire season

LSU- consistent, and they have been able to block for different qbs, that have opposite strengths, in different gm plans, for the last few yrs

not sure i would put LSU in there quite yet but Oregon and Ok ST should be there ; when LSU's new QB gets comfy in the system then they will be a great off

That's not true coolstorybro. Everyone knows that the Runninggame is not a part of any offensive philosophy so it doesn't count. It's only if the QB passes for 400 yards and 5 TD's. Usually happens to teams who are playing from behind or playing Wac opponents. Playing from behind is never really what Alabama does so doubt we'll ever have a good offense and by offense I mean passing game.

yep. average fan's viewpoint of what a good offense looks like is basically "how many yards can they throw for a game"

On the other hand Bama's offense is pretty much unstoppable without the need to even throw. playaction off it but they will pound anyone. 3 of these linemen will be for sure 1st rounders. Possibly 4.

Fluker is a top 3 OT in the country, Warmack is the top OG in the country, and CyKo is an absolute beast at OT. Not even mentioning Jones who is the returning Outland trophy winner.

That's the difference. If you get down big you have to throw. S*** happens throughout the season. Who's leading that two minute drill? PA isn't working against the nickel.

Good offenses do what they do.

    Great offenses do everything.

I was mainly speaking about LSU's OL, it's legit.

I agree on Oregon. But, did Ark St really have 500+ yds on them? They better fix that by Nov.

No way a bama fan should have to resort to e toughness remarks with their tradition. Your a disgrace.

Over the last several years, we've had a really good 2 minute offense. Ocassionally, we'll run it in the middle of the game and move the ball rather easily.

I may be off base here but this bama dynasty reminds me of how awesome UM was early 2000s. TOSU smacked them in the mouth in that champ game. Don't believe for a second that a hungry team with a great defense can't do the same.

Yep. Sometimes I feel like our team is disrespected by most of the nation. Some of that may have to do with some of our fans. If you asked most coaches what type of offense they preferred, I think they would take the efficient, control the clock, wear down the opponent offense. Scoring a lot of points is good but if you don't have a very good defense to keep your team in the game when your offense is down then you're in trouble.

    champs2009

  • Amazes me every year how many teams choose the "fools gold" of these pinball offenses and no defense. Alabama plays a different style than Oregon and Ok State. Who has the better offense? Well that would depend on who you are playing. Oregon folded like a tent against allbarn and LSU and Oregon would throttle Ok State so they should not be a pert of this conversation anyway.

USC plays basically the same offense as Bama with the emphasis more on passing than brutalizing the opposition. They are both still prostyle offenses. In the national perspective USC's O is great because they throw it all over the lot and Bama's O is pedestrian because we don't. Somehow Bama just keeps on winning.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

  • Bama has a good offense, they run great behind a great OL. Play action pass is setup with the running game. This type of offense is utilized when your defense gives you short fields also like Bama. 2 of Bamas scores in the 1st quarer came with great field position inside the 50. Your scoring avg looks good this way. There's nothing wrong with playing to your strengths. Bama play great D, controls the ball with a good running game, throwing in a few passes to keep defense honest, I like it. Only question Bama will have is what happens if we are behind 14 points, granted ghats a big if

AJ McCarron just won the BCSNC Offensive MVP award.

He won this against what many were calling the best secondary in the entire country.

He also had the 2nd highest QB rating in the SEC (147) behind only Tyler Wilson (148) during 2011.

Bama has tons of good receivers.

I'm not a statistic nerd but last year Bama was almost right at 50/50 as far as passing yardage and rushing yardage for about 430yds per game. The can't play catch up question is for the triple option teams. If Bama gets behind by 14 they will not panic and will do what they do. Last year against both UF and Ole Siss Bama gave up long TD passes right out of the chute and if UF hooks up on that throw in the endzone in the 1st Qtr, Bama's down 14-3. Ultimately the outcome of that game was not in question. Bama can throw it as well as they need to. This is not the wing T.

The only touchdown drive that started in UM territory was the one that started with Milliner's interception. I'm pretty sure we never started a drive inside their 50 except that one. At least not one that ended in points.

Mccarron is merely a game manager stop it.He doesn't have to do anything but feed of playaction which leaves gapping holes in the opposing opponents secondary caused by them trying to stop the run at all cost.He is nothing special and neither are your receivers.Your running game however is very special. It's so special that it will give the illusion that a scrub like Mccarron is actually a great QB.Dude is a game manager no more no less.
