He didn't lie in the interviews around the bowl game. He definitely deflected when asked about her and at one point claimed something to the effect of "that has all been talked about already". If they would not have let him be interviewed then they would have had to answer why...that would have looked like more of a cover up.

Notre Dame let the boy keep playing football(played in the Bama game) same as Penn State let Sandusky keep coming back to campus. You should quit embarrassing yourself. Its great you love your school/team but your bias has clouded your good judgement. If you dont think a boy getting killed because of being put in a dangerous situation, a recruit being killed because of a faulty balcony and worst of all a girl taking her life because of a perverted sex offender is no problem and not NDs fault in any way. Even if Te'o was duped, it's been shown that he lied. He talked about his gf dying from cancer two days after he supposedly found out about the hoax. He would have lied to his parents about the relationship. He lied about saying she's the most beautiful girl he's ever seen/met. Hard to feel sorry for him in all of this.
