Surprised this didn't happen earlier. He'll be remembered as a cheat, it's unfortunate.

Why is it unfortunate? It is true. He only has himself to blame along with the entire OSU AD and compliance dept. How they were spared from LOIC or FOM is inexplicable imo.

The Alabama posters believe Nick is a man of his word about sticking around lol.

  • Wow. I wonder how many HCs are praying that no one takes a closer look at the "behind the scenes" workings of their programs. I am sure that almost every big program coach out there has a few skeletons and some probably have a whole graveyard.

I'm incredibly confident that Bo is running a solid program at Nebraska. But it's still dozens of college aged guys. Someone has screwed up somewhere, regardless of whether or not the coaches know.

You get the NCAA in town? They'll find something. Hell, even worse? Getting Yahoo! Sports writers in town!

Yeah, until everything is known about what is going on up there, they may have a difficult time landing a big name. IDK maybe they already have someone in the bag, but realistically....

    we really wont.

Well I know that FSU wasn't doing anything illegal for quite some time (or if we were we were doing a crappy job at it) because we have sucked for a while now. But seriously if a few colleges in a given conference are paying players, giving them incentives to come play, then the other colleges in that conference have to do something to keep up or get left behind. Given that so much money rides on winning, I could see the pressure that coaches and their staff would be under to look the other way.

I'm sure some of them do, but why would he leave Alabama? They'll pay him whatever he wants, so the money won't be an issue. He's got Bama loaded with talent and is considered the favorite to win the SEC( the best conference) most every year now. OSU is going to be a mess for a while with investigations & penatlies looming over the program. If it's linked back to the athletic department knowing about all of the cheating, then they could get a lack of institutional control penalty. Bama is a better job right now.

I not all saying Nick leaves for OSU. I'm just saying Nick leaves for somewhere within the next 3 years.

saban's the type of guy that hates the same scenery, that's why he moves a lot. it'll be interesting because his ego is in love with how the bama faithful have deified him the past few years so that might make him stay

  • People, the NCAA let Auburn off the hook because; "Cam didn't know." (Whatever the hell that means.)
So; here's a deal where tOSU AND the Vest KNEW! And yet did everything to try and cover it up and explain it away.

Selling swag is a very major violation. Because all a school then would have to do is offer all kinds of swag and achievment rings/bling to players as rewards for a great tackle or interception. That way the players would then pawn thier sh*t off for hundreds of dollars. It's an unfair recruiting advantage to allow that stuff. That's why the NCAA has rules about it.

Good riddance, 'Vest. Don't the the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.

    Asshole.

  • "Kyle is going to be upset,” offensive lineman Kyle Kalis’ mother Stephanie said. “This is definitely going to be something he has to think about. I want him to go to Ohio State so bad, but Jim Tressel was a big part of his decision.

“When I told him he just threw his hands up in the air over his head. He is pretty upset. I think the NCAA has lost a lot of respect from a lot of people. This whole thing has been a witch-hunt and it’s sad.”

This is a quote from the article on the front page written by one of the Bucknuts writers. It's an article about some of the OSU commits reaction to the Tressel news. This lady must be uninformed because I'm scratching my head wondering how this is a witch-hunt. Does anyone know something that I don't that would drive the NCAA to go after OSU for no reason at all?

It is all the more appalling that not only did OSU and Tressel did what they did but now that they are being held accountable they act like victims. It is pathetic actually. Be a man and take your punishment.

You're right. Too many people get away things and are not being held accountable for their actions. It's time that coaches and players get punished properly.
