Our defense is more than good enough to keep us in the game. And it's not like Bama has a juggernaut of an offense. You put up 6 points at home against LSU and that was with Richardson. How are Lacy's toe and Dee Hart's knee, btw? And do you have any decent WRs yet? You know, defense only takes you so far. You have to be able to score points, too.

You mean our WRs that dominated the nation's best secondary in the BCSCG after losing our #1 guy early in the game?

No worries there. Elite athletes and speed across the board there.

Lacy sat out Spring scrimmages, but has been full speed in conditioning and workouts. Hart has looked good, but he probably won't see too much of the field. He is probably #4 on the depth chart so he isn't a concern either way.

  • I think Bama will beat us but I doubt the margin of victory will be close to what it was when Bama played MSU. I understand the Bammer’s point that Saban might use it as some extra motivation but at the same time a lot of players that contributed from the 11-12 team are not on the 12-13 team, and I doubt if it does get out of hand that Saban will run up the score to prove a point to the B1G and Delaney.

What point does he have to prove? That Bama deserved to be in the NC? He didn’t prove that Jan 9? Maybe I just have too much respect for the man. shrug

Were those the same WRs that helped you put up 6 points on LSU in Tuscaloosa and generated enough catches to earn you 69th out of 120 teams in passing last year? Look, I'm not saying your offense is awful, but it's not exactly Oregon or Oklahoma either. And FWIW we aren't playing this game with last year's teams. You might have better depth, but you also lost way more NFL caliber talent. The idea that you are going to walk into Dallas this September and play as well in game 1 of the 2012 season as you did in game 13 of the 2011 season is, well, optimistic. This will be a much closer game than most people think. If you don't think so, fine. I'm beginning to hope Saban agrees with you.

Our horrible offense was ranked better than yours in a better defensive conference, including having to play the nation's #2 defednse twice.

4 number 1 recruiting classes in 5 years...our 'off'' year was a top 5 class. The talent gap between the 2 teams and two conferences is ridiculous...there's a reason the pac 10 said no more sec in the 40's...It was because of Alabama.
Saban has plenty of good years left...when he leaves, alabama will find the best coach in america.

    Uh huh, please continue....

  • Honestly, you Alabama fans might as well give it up. This is an argument you can't win, regardless of facts.

Side note; how is Alabama's offense v. LSU part of the argument at all? MSU held UM to 14 points, and LSU's defense was better by a margin.

    I'll be surprised if it's within 14.

PS - lol at UM being put in their place re:MSU
