HE TOLD THE HEAD OF POLICE. THE HEAD OF POLICE. THE HEAD OF POLICE.

Who would you have told? Police? Yeah, Joe did that.

WTF is wrong with you people?

Hey, I promise to stop at nothing to make sure that a person I know personally raped a child goes to jail if you promise to stop defending someone who didn't do enough to keep children safe from a child molester. Deal?

Why not get real about the actual facts? Schultz was NOT the Head of Police. He was the VP of Business and Finance. Those job responsibilities include the offices of Physical Plant, Human Resources, University Police, Investment Management, Auxiliary and Business Services, Corporate Controller, Legal Services and Commonwealth Campus Business Operations, as well as lead financial, endowment, business and administrative activities at all Penn State campuses. It was a dotted line with his primary job role to advocate and protect university finances, not running the Uni Police. He didn't wear a uniform, a badge, nor drive a police cruiser. Telling Schultz was not the only option nor was it the same option as notifying police authorities.

I am still waiting for Penn St fans to admit that Paterno would have acted in a completely different manner had the victim been one of his own grandchildren. Knowing that to be the case, it is quite clear that Paterno, as well as many others, turned his back on THIS victim because it was an at risk child.

  • I look at it this way. Joe Pa was the most influential guy at not only PSU but in college football. You have a friend of your's raping little boys under your watch. You need to do something. Go to police? Sure thing. Joe Pa did that and that was the first step in the right direction. However, that's where it seems to have ended. I'll let Joe Pa defend himself before I go any further in blaming him but if it turns out that he stopped there, then he is a sick SOB and needs to reevaluate his ethical standards.

    Sandusky? Death penalty.
Schultz? A prison sentence long enough to make sure he's anally penetrated.

    That's how I roll.

    Harry Callahan

  • Here is the bottom line...

As long as Jerry Sandusky didn't rape any children of the "Penn State family," Joe Paterno couldn't have cared less.

And not that million dollar BS. Convict him NOW. Kill him now.

Make him pay for the $0.75 bullet & the trial. Un-constitutional? GOOD!

Did you know that a guy on death row can actually request a firing squad?

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

Right because ESPN isn't the biggest sports network in the nation, let's let our personal biases get in the way of CHILDREN GETTING RAPED.

I am rolling with you. Put the dog down. A bullet is cheap, but only one use, a rope is can be re-used on other child molesters, drowning with water is free. Either works for me.

Back in the day they used to have a death penalty by "crushing". Put the person down on a stone slab, put another stone slab on top of him/her (usually used on witches), then piled stones on top until the offender was crushed to death.

    Those Puritans were freaking brutal.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I thought it was everywhere, but I admittedly didn't check every jurisdiction. If not everywhere, I'm bringing it back.

Fvck it, let's see if child molesters are witches/warlocks and burn them at the stake.

Dude. KIDS WERE GETTING MOLESTED. If you tell the police and they do nothing, the next step is ESPN.

Are you dense or what? Why in the hell would you call espn?

Do you think Vatech students thought about calling ESPN during the shootings? Come on man. Rape is a CRIMINAL offense. ESPN is a SPORTS network....get it now?

  • Have you read the testimony today? At all? If you don't see that the reason this thing never got to where it needed to go is because of Curley and Schultz, I don't know what to tell you.

It's like going to the police and tell them that you needed to report a crime... then after you were done, they threw whatever testimony you had right into the trash. When you inquired about it later they said "eh, we looked into it and there wasn't enough there." That's what happened here. It's pretty obvious.

Yes I get it. You feel ESPN wronged your school and have a agenda against them.

My point is that if the cops aren't doing anything, you call the media. ESPN is the biggest sports media, and the Bernie Fine situation aside, if the winningest coach in the history of college football called them and told them that a former staff member was boofooing little boys in the shower, they would report it. And even if what Penn State slappies are claiming is true, that the Penn State police were covering it up while Joe Pa was valiantly trying to bring down Sandusky, their hand would be forced.

Right. So let's say you see your neighbor murder a person on his front lawn. You go to the police and they do nothing. You see him murder another one, you go to the police and they do nothing. You see him murder another one. You are saying that at this point one should just say "Eh, what are you gonna do?" and go on with your life.

You are digging reasons to let Joe Pa off the hook because you are a Penn State slappy. The people who are not slappies see this for what it is.

Joe didn't see Sandusky do this to anyone. There is a HUGE difference between the two.

As for being a PSU slappy, I'm saying that at minimum, the AD and Head of the PSU police F'd up. In essence, PSU f'd up and is paying the price. I don't know how that makes me a "slappy". All I am doing in here is defending Joe because, honestly, he is the only one in this whole incident that did the right thing.

Joe Paterno knew this was going on and allowed it to continue. He did not do the right thing. He did the exact opposite of that. When he saw that the cops weren't going to do anything, why didn't he do more? Why did he just stop? This is children getting molested. Shame on you for defending him in this. If it were your children or family members, you would not feel the way you do.

JoePa did the right thing, to a point. If Spiderman taught us anything it is that with great power comes great responsibility. He had the power to stop little boys from being raped by a monster, and he failed.
