Against LSU:
29/56, 276 yds, 0 TD's, 3 INTS.... 17 rushes for 27 yards
Against UF:
23/30, 173 yds, 0 TD's, 0 INTS...17 carries, 60 yards, 1 TD
So other than the Bama game (which Mett had a career game against a week or 2 prior), why should he win the heisman other than his flashy play and that 1 big win?
No flame, serious question..
Teams he beat:
LA Tech SMU South Carolina State Arkansas Ole MIss Auburn Miss State Sam Houston State Mizzou
So TAMU only played 3 good teams, and he lost to 2 of them, I mean, they beat a BUNCH of scrubs.. Not Heisman worthy at all to me... But the ESPN hype machine will do this.

You should check Colin Klein's stats in the one game he faced the best defense on their schedule and then the game he faced the worst team on their schedule. Yikes. It's bad.
Same with Braxton Miller and others etc.
It's just not a very good Heisman year IYAM.

I agree with the assessment on Johnny football. Why did Klein get knocked down so much when he lost 1 game, but Manziel lost 2. His stats are great, but he lost twice. Te'o has been the heart and soul of the best scoring defense in the country. So many goalline stands this year. 7 INTs, second in the country. 103 tackles. Not a lot of TFL, but that isn't how he was used on his team. He has been one of the best players in the country, but the MOST consistent of the Heisman finalists. Bring it home Manti.

Because he lost to two Top 10 teams close who also happen to be the best in the country in almost every statistical defensive category, not get blown out by a mediocre 7-5 team that is also one of the worst defenses in the country (he threw THREE picks against). That's the big difference.
Teo is average or worse in many defensive statistics and his one bright spot, interceptions, aren't really that impressive if you watched him. A few were tip balls and a couple were just terrible reads by the QB trying to pass across the middle with T'eo just being in position. It's pretty easy to see that he is a product of being a ND player.

A little late to the party but nobody has come close and the NCAA and BCS and whoever is anybody in the college football world wants to see a freshmen win it! I also would like to see this young man win it, look at your guys defense man, Lsu's D is just nasty but somehow he pulled the miracle vs Bama, a special guy if you ask me. s
