  • 6'5', 240 TE.. 4****.. #8 overal TE.

My question.. Why does he have an average offer sheet?

    Bowling Green
    California
    Clemson
    East Carolina

I know Saban can evaluate and knows where he will fit him into his offense but I'm just curious why he had no SEC offers and only 2 BCS schools besides Bama?

(maybe there's more but 247 only had the teams I listed)

    No flame, serious question.

  • Much needed good news after the month we've had. Seems like we have the physical blocking tight end to go with OJ Howard now. Hopefully on August 3rd Demarcus Walker makes us all forget about the past few weeks. Derrick Henry picks us as well and I'll start losing my anger at losing RNK and Foster.

  • Congrats. Very talented kid and with OJ, not needed immediately. Good thing considering the rumors of horrible grades. If he gets in and Howard sticks, unfair. So happy that LSU is recruiting better LBs and continuing to get good S.

In the article it said that he had offers from UGA and AU as well. I seriously doubt the offers you listed were his only one's as a top 200 player in the country. Also shows a ND offer, LSU offer and WVU offer on his bio sheet.

Alabama commitment Josh McNeil Tight End

On a day where the University of Alabama lost a commitment in offensive lineman Andy Dodd, the Tide wasted no time in picking up lost momentum with a four-star pledge.

No problem but it's still odd that those were the teams that they listed as his top five. Cal and Clemson aren't exactly slouches but with those offers to list ECU and Bowling Green above them is weird. Saban still doesn't take commitments from kids that have no chance of getting in since the SEC made the 25 rule.

  • Kids got great speed and talent and athelicism but grades look pretty dismal. Could be a sign and place and kid really wants to play at Bama.

    How bad are his grades?

I personally hate this sign and place BS. I mean they can just change their commitments if they are placed somewhere else if they are ever able to qualify. It makes no fvcking sense to me.

OSU was high on him early on until Marcus Baugh committed. Solid player, needs some work (was a basketball player) but big upside.

lol Urbs was in great shape until they pushed him aside expecting Heuerman to commit. After all tOSU fans said he was a lock for them. After Huereman made the wise decision to play at ND Urbs tried to get McNeal back on campus, but has burnt his bridge. Good get for Bama if he can get in.. Believe our staff liked him on D.

    he'll get in .
many thought Woodson Jr was a no-go in 11' as was Raheem Falkins who is now considered an early-entry option for the Tide.

with that said , OJ Howard (hb) & Josh McNeil (te) have the potential to be the game-changers in the passing attack especially w/ a host
of young talented WR's keeping D's honest.

    try to visualize this
Amari Cooper wide left / Eddie Williams wide right, TJ Yeldon as the lone back .... AJ play-action banana

With limited scholarships we were taking 1 tight end....Baugh was #1,Heuerman was #2,and Mcneil was #3. OSU would've taken Heuerman and Baugh but not Baugh and Mcneil.

You may end up being right but I have seen this stated about a lot of guys that ultimately got in. Marcel Dareus, Eddie Lacy, Danny Woodson Jr...that's just 3 off the top of my head that were never going to make it and all 3 made it in.
