How did Bush make it too easy to ignore? Let me guess, his basic 10 year old $10,000 Impala or the middle class home his fam was staying in over 100 miles from SC's campus?

At the end of the day, SC got hit with SMU like snactions (minus the TV ban) because they should have known. I mean, Bama received less for the Albert Means situation. , ridiculous.

I don't know why your trying to ge all pissy with me. I've actually been saying good things about your program. I didn't place the sanctions on your fvcking program so you need to take you anger out on the NCAA, not me. The fact of the matter is that the middle class home that his fam was staying in over 100 miles from campus was paid for by an agent and not his middle aged family. There are emails between the family and the agent that have been shown.

I also said that I didn't believe that USC or any of it's boosters paid him persay but that I believed they turned a blind eye. I do not hate USC for it and think that ALL major programs have some form of pay for play system going on in one way or another. Bush pissed off that agent by not doing what he promised to do by signing with another agent and not paying him back for his expenses.

Albert Means was actually innocent in his ordeal. The problem with Albert Means was that a booster paid his high school coach to get his signature, which pissed off Means assistant coach because he didn't get paid as well, and shit hit the fan. Alabama got what they deserved and all of us admit it at this point. USC getting shitty at other fanbases for saying that they believe USC knew SOMETHING is ridiculous. You can hate on the NCAA all you want but it wasn't our fanbases that brought down the sanctions.

I have also said that I think the difference in the USC sanctions compared to Ohio State's sanctions are a joke. I think USC should have gotten less and Ohio State should have gotten more.

You have been more than fair in all your posts regarding USC, and I thank you for that. If others took a more moderate approach such as you have, I don't think we'd be as touchy.

The NCAA dragged out our case four times longer than anyone else's, just looking for things. Universities should be punished with equal fairness, and for the degree of the "crime"

I'm sick to death of this subject, and people throwing the "cheater" tag on us, when it was RB, the football player, that cheated.

It's not a problem. I try to call things like I see them and be objective. It's a lot more reasonable than pumping out blind hatred. Alabama hasn't been a saint of a program over the years and it would be hypocritical of me to jump on other programs for doing stuff that we have done ourselves.

I remember when the ruling came down, the few Alabama folks that posted on our board, were sympathetic. The others can rot in hell. biggrin (kinda mean that one, lol)

I think the NCAA had to in a way though. I don't think they would have if the agent wouldn't have gone on Real Sports with Bryant Gumble and started showing receipts and emails between himself and the family. That segment made it impossible for them to not try and make a statement with your school. Again, I'm not saying that it's fair or anything like that and the NCAA has proven over the years that their punishments follow no guidelines and are anything but.

If that agent wouldn't have made such a stink in the national media you probably would have skated. I'm not going to go as far as you and say that USC is clean as a whistle though. I still think that you should have gotten half of what you did and Ohio State should have gotten twice what they did. The NCAA has no fvcking clue what they are doing when it comes to issues like this.

Pissy? lol, man, ain't nobody trippin with you. It is what it is. SC got their issue from the NCAA and are dealing with it accordingly. Also, I used the Albert Means situation as an example to show how lame and inconsistent the NCAA is. In Means' situation an actual Bama booster was found to have been involved whereas the "agent" providing Bush and his fam with extra benefits had no ties to SC whatsoever.

I'll agree with you that the NCAA is inconsistent as fvck when it hands down sanctions. I don't know what they are thinking half the time. You would think they would have a book that says if this happens then this is what you are facing. Sadly I think it just depends on the mood of the committee on a particular day when they hand them down.

I would have said a one (two year bowl ban maybe) and ten schollies for your school. Losing 30 scholarships was excessive to say the least. If it was proved that it was a booster then your sanctions would have made sense.

I'm assuming that USC fans will at least admit that Carroll only left because he knew your school was about to get hammered though? I haven't asked USC fans about that.

No, that's actually not the case at all.

Carroll had been looking at the NFL for multiple years and was looking for the right opportunity to have control over a franchise to prove himself in the NFL.

He also got at least a $2 million per year bump in pay. It made sense for him to leave when you think about it like that.

I'm assuming that Carroll, like Kiffin, actually believed that USC was going to get some moderate form of punishment. Nothing like what we got.

Fair punishment IMO. 5 schollies for 2 years, 1 bowl ban.

First off...I don't know any Trojan that feels we dd not merit some kind of sanctions, no one thought we'd go scott free, by any means. But what we did get? Hell no, that blew us away...fast forward to now, and it is very clear there was an agenda on behalf of the COI. Screw them, they can't and won't bring USC down.

As for Pete leaving when he did. We knew. in 2007 before the season, I was at the San Pedro Trojan Club Coache's Tour dinner, and before CPC and Coach Floyd arrived, the MC (who is now with Pete in Seattle) told us to enjoy Pete while we had him, because he would not be with us forever. I honestly don't think Pete had any idea the sanctions would be so harsh, all the reports from our brass who came out of those meeting with the NCAA, thought they went well. There was pure shock when the ruling came down...that I can assure you.

Ted Miller from ESPN said it best...we were punished for aggressively defending ourselves, and the case USC presented was a powerful one.

The NCAA wanted USC on their knees, pounding our chest with mea culpas, and that wasn't going to happen, because the university - while acknowledging that RB received monies from would be agents, argued that the university itself was not involved.

I really hope he plays Safety and not SAM. We are severely lacking in the turnover department.

Let me help you out zabba, Hutchings is being recruited to play SAM, not Cravens. Cravens will play WILL, safety or on offense.....it will ultimately be his choice. Cravens is a player you let play where ever he wants.......just sign him!

Okay, thanks. I said SAM because Chris Swanson suggested he would play SAM.

    Su'a Cravens sets decision date

The five-star will announce his college decision on June 6, his mothers birthday.
