The definition of being in "fear of your life" is very broad, especially when talking about the application of lethal force.
I wouldn't consider getting punched by a 17 year old as a situation where I fear for my life, because I don't need a gun to handle a 17 year old kid. People like USMAG and Zimmerman think differently because they are scardy cats.
When a law is so broad that the police aren't sure what to do when a kid is murdered in the street, then obviously there are issues with the application of that law.
When laws are put forth by special interest groups instead of voters, more often than not the law isn't written for the general good of the public.
