It's interesting I think that, in WWII, the "banding together" factor of "Buy American!" was inspired by the fact we were at war. I'm inclined to think that this campaign is using an anti-current government message to get the same effect. Ballsy on their part.

The commercial itself isn't anti-government, it's the people that it targets that are; and I'm not saying that's a problem. Heavily-patriotic advertising needs an "enemy" to work properly so as to bring the people together, whoever that may be. WWII advertising had an obvious enemy, Germany and the European Theater. The enemy here is an administration that people feel threatens the "American way of life," which this commercial tapped in to and supported.
