    no doubt. Mathis is a 4* and top 247 at least imo. He will be in the top 247 next time 247 re-does their rankings imo.

    Wondering out loud here- but I do wonder how much politics had with him being named DL MVP. Not trying to be a whiney little b-word at all...because believe me I love Mathis as a prospect and I have no doubt he balled out today, but every source I was following on twitter was raving about Taco. Wonder if Mathis being from LA helped him get the extra nod to push him over the top to win the MVP, cause it sounded like at worst Taco was just as good on this day.

    good point.

    Mathis is criminally underrated on 247 imo.

    ESPNU has him in their Top 150 watch-list (which is an automatic 4*)

    Rivals has him as a 4* in their Top 100

    Scout has him as a 4* and as the #8 DE in the country.

    This happens with lots of prospects though, different eyes are going to see different things.

    Take Taco for instance...

    ESPNU has him in their top 150 watch-list, Rivals has him in their Top 250, 247 has him in their top 100, and Scout? Scout has him as a 3* and like the #41 ranked DE.

    Yes. Maybe he is. I said all along that rankings are fluid and I'd see more. He looked very good today

    I have to assume Hawkins' teammate Goodman will be a Trojen as well... USC looks good for Redfield as well I believe. With that, obviously Cravens is still out there, but would USC landing Goodman/Redfield have any effect on USC going after Cravens?

    Absolutely not. Cravens can play a multitude of positions, in fact USC initially wanted him to play offense.

    Hell NO!We're looking good for Cravens irregardless of Goodman.I actually think we take Redfield and Goodman or Byrd as safeties.Cravens as a will.

    No politics. Mathis took a lot more reps, was more active and effective in 1on1s. No doubt about it though, Charlton has the best upside of any DL at the event. Great body and athleticism.

    The staff had no bias. They're not from California and most don't know who any of these guys are prior to the event. The DL coach was calling Mathis "dreads" all camp. Not sure he even knew his real name.

    Phenomenal body, most athletic DL at the event. Best body at the event, most upside of maybe any defender at the event save for Imam Marshall and Priest Willis. Wasn't quite as active in 1on1s as say Mathis but still very good. NO real surprises from Charlton he was every bit as impressive as i expected him to be.

    Chris looked great. Was the DB MVP and it was well earned. He may not have let a WR catch it on him all day. He showed me a lot today.

    He holds way too much but beyond that, he showed great competitive spirit, great instincts and quickness and had the best afternoon of any DB.
