  • Best price and best location is Treasure Island... However, it's not very nice (hence the best prices).

My favorite hotels are the Palazzo (on strip) and Cosmopolitan (City Center not Strip, but GREAT hotel with great food and club and very close to strip), both reasonably priced as well, but not as cheap as Treasure Island.

Stayed in Mandalay Bay all last week, and it was alright, better and much more expensive than Treasure Island, but not nearly as good as the other two, and not as good a location as any of them.

    $400 or less per night?

    Or $400 or less total?

Edit: Assume you mean total.. LVH (old Hilton) is nice.. clean rooms, huge sportsbook and that should be under $400

    With that budget I'd say...

    Planet Hollywood
    Mirage
    Monte Carlo

Out of those I like the Mirage the best.

  • Went a month ago and stayed at planet hollywood. If you are a younger person this is the best place to stay hands down.

I don't know what your definition of the "the strip" is, but I would consider The Cosmopolitan to be on the strip.

  • Stay at the Wynn.. Best hotel in Vegas, no doubt about it, IMO.

Might be to pricey for you though but that's where I have stayed the last 10-15 times i've been there.

Agree on The Wynn/Encore being the best. I stayed at The Encore and it was better than The Venetian, Palazzo, Bellagio, Vdarra, Aria.

If he stayed at either The Wynn or Encore, he might be able to get 2 nights if he finds a really really good deal.

  • Stayed at the Flamingo. Nothing special, but it's a good location and cheap room on the strip

  • Here is what you do.

Go to the Ceasars/Harrahs web site. Sign up for the "Total Rewards Card". (Its just a slot club card, is completely free.) Then go to the Ballys Hotel site. Book a room on that site, using your total rewards card. If he is staying during the week, his room will be around thirty bucks a night. In addition, Caesars and their properties are the only hotels on the strip that do NOT charge the idiotic and downright criminal "resort fee." that Vegas made up a couple years ago. You will pay an additional 20 bucks a night at other hotels in Las Vegas for that fee.

Here is the link to the reward card sign up. Casars hotels in Las Vegas on the strip include Harrahs, Ballys The Flamingo, Planet Hollywood. Ballys is the best deal of those hotels. HUGE rooms, perfect location and the best rates. Its the overall best deal in Las Vegas.

Caesars Total Rewards: Casino Rewards Program

Harrah's Total Rewards let you earn hotel discounts and rewards while playing casino games at any of the Harrah's Las Vegas hotels & casinos, Atlantic City hotels & casinos, or other Harrah's locations throughout the US.

Really? Why is that? The rooms are bigger. the location is the best in Las Vegas, and the pool is actually deep enough to swim in and you can get some of the cheapest, best rooms on the strip.

If you stay at the Mirage, as you suggest, you are going to get smaller rooms on the far end of the strip for at least twice the cost. The Mirage charges a 20 dollar plus a night resort fee, by the way.

I guess it technically it is, but I always considered City Center kind of it's own little thing although still in a really good location with regards to the strip.

    I'd suggest staying downtown somewhere.

Haha... Has anyone ever been to the Hooters hotel? I've never been, but I'd imagine it's pretty cheap, and surely has a big sports book place. Lol.
