LSU guys what cha think about this move from the staff?

  • Not flaming in any way...just wondering how the fan base feels about this.

Did 21-0 cost LSU a title and its nerve?

Tigers don't want to play Florida every year because they say it's not fair.

  • Our AD has been saying this about the Florida series well before the title game.

What does Les and the players have to do with what our dumb AD says?

  • Ouch!

Perception is not good on this one. Maybe judge your peers a little bit before you bring this stuff to the table, IMO.

Not a big deal, but not worth the public scrutiny when you could have polled the interest level before even getting to that meeting.

I agree with you. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, they should have done a little more polling of the other teams before bringing this the forefront, IMO. No reason to look any certain way if there was no chance of it happening.

  • Yay, more speculative, regional garbage on SEC meeting proposals. There are some good ones on Spurrier coming out of GA too.

Though shalt not go against the desires of the schools centered around the conference office, lest ye shall be smited by the blogger minions.

I'm surprised most of these articles aren't finished with a You Mad meme.

  • I agree LSU is headed to a downward spiral I'll be happy with a 6-6 record

  • Coming from an Alabama web site..

This will pass... We will wreck teams this year and all will be well.

This team just has extra motivation and will have a big chip on their shoulder.

  • Im not sure anyone in Louisiana cares about the opinion of a Alabama newspaper/online news team.

We have been trying to get rid of this game for a few years now and the media now wants to make it out that we are running from teams. Its a joke from a news publisher in Alabama trying to get a reaction from their podunk readers.

    Simple question.

Why do you want out of the game?

I meant the school, not anyone personally. Seems like a game against Florida every year would only help recruiting. I love the Tennessee rivalry, but a game every other year in Knoxville isn't quite as appealing as a game in Central Florida every other year.

  • Id like the game rotated. Yes, its a big game and its fun but every year seems a bit much. With the way the NCAA is changing to way we are going to determine a champion at the end of the year thats going to mean more than ever now every game is going to play a bit more into its importance. I just dont think its an even playing field when you take a team like Georgia who did have to play any of the big three in the west and say man they are good and deserving to play in the SEC championship even though they didnt have to play the best teams. If UGA had to play ARK, LSU, or Bama last year instead of Auburn their permenant oponent then USC is representing the East not them.

I think the SEC should have no permenants and have a rotating schdeule that allows all teams to play each other over the course of 4 years. (Two new opposing teams from the other side of the conference per year). Teams that play cupcakes each year have a huge advantage over teams that are locked into powerhouse football teams. Rotate the game and everything is on a equal playing field.

You can rotate the game and things still won't be on an equal playing field. Last year Auburn had to play the 2 best teams in the East and neither LSU or Bama had to in the regular season. It happens. It would happen if you rotated it and if you didn't.

Saying UGA gets off easy playing Auburn compared to South Carolina playing Arkansas isn't really true. Arkansas has been better than Auburn about 4 times in the last 15+ years.

Arkansas had a good team, but it's not like a team that would be worthy of an SEC championship shouldn't have beaten them. Bama and LSU both blew them out.

South Carolina just had to beat Auburn or Arkansas.

I wouldn't mind getting rid of permanents. I heard someone mention going to a 16 team, 4 division conference. I liked the sound of that. That way you get to rotate with the 12 other teams.

  • The atmosphere before, during, and after those big Florida games have been too amazing to give up. That being said, it kind of sucks that it means we practically aren't in the same conference as the east anymore.
