I would also say that due to the national significance of its outcome, it's the most important rivalry. It may lack the soap opera ridiculousness of the Iron Bowl, but it's definitely the most important.

there's really no dislike between the fans of the 2 schools...I know LSU fans hate coach Saban but the fans of the 2 schools handle a loss to each other as well as any you'll find..

Best rivalry? Come on man. Best rivalry status means the regular season game has to mean something.
Just a couple years ago the "new best rivalry" was Bama and UF.
Things like this come and go. Real rivalries last mopre than a couple of years.
