LSU vs SC

  • The line is -4 LSU. How do the LSU fans feel about this game?

  • I sure hope SC wins, I want them undefeated in 2 weeks when they visit The Swamp. Hopefully Gameday will be coming to town for the Top 5 matchup

  • I see it as low scoring, and someone's defense is going to score a touchdown or give their offense a very short field and thats what decides it.

I know we will have trouble scoring on LSU, and honestly I don't see them moving the ball on us at all...

so I see turnovers deciding it, especially with 2 teams with aggressive defenses that cause a lot of them.

I hate having to play there at night, but I LOVE our DL matchup vs their OL and QB.

  • With how SC is playing on offense and defense coupled with LSU's lack of offense, I think SC wins this one. I'm curious to see how SC responds after a very emotional blowout win vs. UGA and LSU's demoralizing loss to UF this past weekend. It will be a good game, regardless.

  • 3 tough ass games in a row for USC. Couldn't put the Gators in a better position in two weeks.

  • I obviously feel great about our team right now and think we'll win, but an angry LSU playing at night in BR will be a tall order for any team. I think the current spread makes sense.

  • I don't know why, but I'm still not completely sold on USCe. I think LSU wins this. At home, at night, Mettenberger won't look so damn clueless at home. Seems like a game where Les could call something crazy and have it work in a 10-9 type of game.

If USCe wins in Baton Rouge, they should jump to number 2 before the UF game.

  • I'm really worried about LSU for some reason. They will be angry and that crowd will be fired up

  • Cockengr is right, IMO. This will come down to whose defense can make bigger plays and get a score. I don't see either offense scoring more than 14.

  • It's a very interesting line, that's for sure. Would give me a lot of pause.

Have to think LSU's offense will get dominated...

  • we should play without much pressure, because win or lose the LSU game us winning the East comes down to beating Florida anyway, so hopefully we go in pretty loose.

  • Very excited about this game. Pulling hard for USCe because if they win, we can go into Baton Rouge and lose and likely still win the West. As for this game, I like USCe but wouldn't be the least bit surprised if LSU won. Death Valley at night, LSU's backs against the wall, still a very strong defense. LSU is a different team at home.

Still, USCe's defense is for real and Lattimore is a stud. I think Clowney and company will make life hell for that statue of a QB, Mettenberger. LSU's anemic offense is the X factor, IMO. Without a defensive or ST's score, I don't see LSU taking this one. Think USCe will win a close one, 16-13 or so.

    Can't wait to watch!

Horrible match-up for LSU's OL. The LSU defense needs to throw a shutout IMO. That offense won't do much against USCe...I feel bad for the losses along the OL for LSU. They aren't the same team that started the season.

  • I don't like them back at home, coming off a loss. It's kind of a lose-lose for us. If we win, the reactionary contingent will say LSU is overrated. If we lose, they'll say we were overrated.

Regardless though, I'm sticking to my guns that if we get through @LSU and @UF, we'll inexplicably drop the game to UT at home the following week.

    PTCcock195

  • Take SCe on that line.

Whoever LSU's LT will be I don't think he can matchup with Clowney for 4 quarters. SCe has proven they can stop a good running attack. LSU O will find themselves playing behind the chains for most of the game. Bad news there.

SCe's O is balanced and will approach the LSU D similiar to how they approached UGA's D. PA pass early to prevent the LSU D from stacking the box to stop Lattimore. If Shaw plays well I think SCe wins by 2 TD's. LSU has no identity and no swag.

They absolutely would say that...if it wasn't an SEC team.

  • If USC can score 17 points and not give up any big turnovers/special teams plays we win. I just don't see LSU's offense scoring more than 14

What is LSU's home night record against SEC teams? Don't they mostly play cupcakes at night to pad the stats?

We play 4 SEC teams a year against SEC schools and have the longest home winning streak in the nation(though it's nothing really huge). Les only has about 3 losses at TS at night in 8 years. Doesn't matter who the opponent is. The last loss was to the Tebow team in '09.

As for the game, if the LSU offense continues to play the way it has USCe wins about like UF did last week. Maybe by more because USCe has a better offense. If LSU comes with any kind of consistency and execution on offense, we will win. I'm suprised by the line to be honest. Don't think anyone that has watched us the last 4 weeks could think the game is winnable for us.

This is a great point. Regardless of what we do against LSU we have to beat UF in Gainesville. Otherwise, they will probably go undefeated, and end up in Atlanta.

Maybe it's just my impression but they seem especially daunting at night with all the drunken Cajuns behind them.
