Itll be interesting. Gotta figure they need to get to 45 wins or so to have a chance. 30-17 to finish the year is going to be tough especially if Dwight and Pau are out too long.

i still cant believe they hired Dantoni. That was an obvious disaster instantly. This roster isnt one that works with him at all.

TBH the Lakers are going to be hamstrung by Kobe's contract until it expires.

After that need to do a whole rebuilding project. Get younger, get a bench, get more athletic. Unfortunately, they have made so many moves I don't think the Lakers have any draft picks outside of second rounders (whoop de do!) for the coming years.

I also think they need to shop Dwight in a sign and trade.

Also fire D'antoni. I don't think Phil was the right coach, but D'antoni certainly was the wrong one. Couldn't they have looked for an up and coming coach, or maybe someone good from the college ranks?

I would love for that but I don't know if they can swing that money wise. I know the NBA has some tricky rules about money and I am not that up to date on all of them.

The thing about Dwight that bugs me is his attitude. I knew it would be a problem when he basically told Steve Nash to piss off when Nash approached him with free throw tips (and Nash at the time was .3% off the career record as best free throw shooter). He can't handle the LA media and won't ever succeed out here.

Pau is uncomfortable in the offense too and probably won't last here unless we move back to the triangle. However that won't happen as management chose to alienate him over moving to the triangle and alienating Steve Nash, so they won't go back now. Can probably ship him for some good pieces.

Also I don't care what people say about post season vs regular season wins. This year the Clippers are the best team in LA. It also looks that way for the foreseeable future unless the Lakers perform a major overhaul.

I said before the season even with Dwight they were going to be bad on defense. Every Laker fan thought that Dwight would just erase all their defensive problems, but he can't. Nash is a horrible defender, Kobe is mediocre on that end now and has been for a couple seasons, Metta is a shell of his former self, Pau has never been known for his defense. Plus their bench blows.

Jordan was a crap defender at 34 also.
